Oooh Centerparcs at Christmas, that sounds good! When do you go? We were there at half term, my kids love it.

Good that you've sorted the bills, it's so nice to feel in control. And thanks for the reminder to check the Grabbit board, I rarely look on there, but as I'll be needing paint soon, I should make it a new habit.

Lol at the kids lists! My eldest came home with her list the other day:

Barbie Puppy Swim School, Smoothie Maker, Ice Cream maker, iphone, ipad, XBox, DSi (she's got a DS - but needs the "i"), Playstation, Computer :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Bless, she'll be getting 2 tin cans and a bit of string at this rate! :D Have a nice evening x
  • Been a while since I posted - 6 months in fact
Finally feel like I am getting my house 'in order' - Making steady progress repaying the debts and have also started to build up an emergency fund - something which has been long overdue.
I am a little worried about interest rates going up as things are still tight financially but I guess I will cross that bridge if it comes to it.
I have been decluttering and tidying the house this past week or two (call it a delayed spring clean!) As a result I have a lot of things ending on Ebay this evening (all with bids:) and a load more to list this weekend)
The only thorn in my side at the moment is that I feel I have nothing to look forward to until the last week in August when we go on a weeks holiday - I am going to think about booking a mini-break or something to keep me going!

  • Well, back to work - I have asked to go back to 3 days per week at work from 1st August - so only 8 more weeks of full time left. :j
I am trying to decide whether to book a mini break or something for the end of July - fancying Centreparcs again and can get quite reasonably (for Centreparcs) at £400 for a 4 day weekend - It needs some more consideration though as still have a small HSBC credit card debt I am trying to target alongside trying to build up my £3k Emergency savings fund.
I really need to contact my accountant too, as DH is owed about £300 tax he overpaid before Christmas - surely he should be receiving it soon?
We have been taking a different approach with our fuel consumption this month - trying to fill it up (£90 ) but that seems to last about 10 days and the past 2 times we have had a 5p off Mr T Voucher. If that stays the same our fuel for the month will be £270 - as opposed to the £325 we spent last month  I would have thought it was less economical to run with a full tank because of the extra weight, but that doesn't seem to have been the case
