  • Managed to stick to my diet/detox today and surprisingly I haven't felt hungry.
I also managed to bag one of the Take That C.D's for £1 this morning on Amazon - Judging by the comments on the 'Grabbit' board, I would say I was very lucky indeed!
I have also exchanged some nectar points for some Amazon Vouchers, which I will use towards some more christmas pressies. I had been intending to put them towards a tin of paint for the study which is about to be decorated but the two times I have been to Homebase, that particular colour has been out of stock, so I've given up on that one!
Had to dash round Tesco straight after work, but the £40 I got yesterday from Ebay paid for the food, which should last us till Saturday - That is the plus side of OH working nights - I only have to do tea for me and the kids, I do them something nutritional but simple, and I can manage with some soup or a jacket spud, so the food shopping is coming in cheaper. Also had to put some diesel in the car - so skint now till Thurdsay!
Right, gonna go put my running kit on now and have a quick run!
Have a good night if you're reading this!

  • Managed to stick to my diet until tea time and then had to take youngest DD to a party at a well known pub-chain. Didn't fancy the thought of cooking for me and the boys when I got in, so bought us dinner - chicken tikka masala, rice & nan bread for me with a J2O.
Made a start on my crochet this evening too, about a third of the way through the little hat.
Counted out my change and bagged it up - apart from a few 1p's - I had £40 to bag up.
Ordered some aftershave for Brother in law (Christmas) off Amazon last night and used my £2.50 nectar voucher, so that came in nice and cheap. About half way through Christmas shopping now I would say :T
Managed my run last night, followed by a radox bath, buttoday my groin is killing, think I may have overdone it, so I'm having a rest this evening.
Working half day tomorrow which will be nice as I get to collect the littlies from school and get a bit extra time with them

  • The 'cutting down' is still going well, as is the running, although haven't done any today as just too busy!
Came home to three parcels - one being my bargain £1 Take That CD and the others, somemore christmas pressies. I have been wrapping as I have been going along, but am a bit behind so need to catch up at the weekend. Good news is that I more or less know what else needs to be bought now so I feel really organised.
Back on talking terms with OH (shall I go back to calling him DH now - lol?) - I have suggested we ask his Dad to babysit on Saturday so we can have a night out together, which will be lovely and long overdue although I'm not sure where we will go yet.
Just one more day at work and then a long weekend as I have Monday booked off :j - infact it will be a short week, as I have Friday 3rd booked off too to finish christmas shopping :j :j
Off to bed now - Didn't manage to get to 'proper' sleep until about 3am this morning when I knew Dh was back from work safe, then up at 7am for the dreaded school run.
A little snow flurry over our way, but nothing major thank goodness.
    Have a good evening all

  • Well a nice day off - managed to do some more christmas shopping (online) - have nearly done all the extended family and only the major things to get for the children now. - Also did some wrapping up and crocheted a couple of flowers to adorn the little hat that I made for DD, which I am very pleased with - should keep those little ears warm!
We have had a bit of snow, but lots more forecast for tonight - so I have warned MIL that I may not be at work tomorrow (it is a 10 mile drive on country roads and I have absolutely NO experience of driving in bad weather so I would rather lose a days pay than risk it)
We went to the in-laws yesterday for DH's grans 93rd birthday - I ate so much at lunchtime that I didn't eat again for the rest of the day, I did however run 4 miles in the evening to try and make up for it (600 calories burnt! :j)
Going to try and chill now and sew the flowers to aforementioned hat and surf a bit more with a glass of vino - DH at work till 2am :(

  • Holy Macaroni! - No-one is going anywhere today are they?
Had a text at 8am to say work shut, shortly followed by one from school to say school shut too.
What to do with my lovely unexpected day off?
Have just managed to book my christmas tesco delivery slot!

Oh that reminds me to book mine - thank you! And enjoy your day off. My "day off" will probably have to be taken as a holiday
  • That's too bad having to use holiday entitlement. I actually have Friday booked off as Annual Leave, but if work is shut and no-one is going in, I am going to argue my case to get the day back! - I was intending to use the day to do some Christmas Shopping, but don't think I will be going too far in this.
Just put our tree and decorations up - I was intending to do it on Sunday, but DD was asking what we could do together, so it seemed like a good idea - feel absolutely knackered now though!
DH has gone off to work again, he will finish at about 2am - luckily we have a 4 x 4 so this snow is not causing him too much trouble, plus he is an ex police-driver so it doesn't worry him at all - unlike me, the thought of driving in this terrifies me 1:eek:

My dad's got a 4x4 so is making light work of the snow too. My problem with work is that there isn't much snow there, so I've taken loads of pictures/videos (!) today as "evidence".
Of course, I'll make up the time, but if it runs into a dew days off work, it might be a problem.

I can work at home, but not when the kids are here, or on days like today where DD1 has been sick all day :o

Enjoy your tree - can't believe you've got it up so early! I'm a week before Christmas kinda girl :D Have a nice evening x
  • Normally I put my tree up towards the end of the first week in December, but we are away for Christmas this year, so we won't have the full benefit of it for the whole of the season,
Like you though, I have been quite organised with Christmas Shopping, most of the family/friends done, just the kids to finish off and a few more bits for DH.
We have had a good foot of snow in Doncaster today and more is forecast for overnight. DD had to go out with Tesco carrier bags on her feet, tied around her knees as the snow was deeper than her wellies!
I can't work from home unfortunately as the main part of my job is as receptionist, not many visitors to greet in my lounge :o

  • Feeling quite organised this evening, paid a few bills online, just wrapped one of DH's christmas pressies and all paperwork is in order.

Nipped to Homebase this afternoon with a 20% voucher I pinched off the Grabbit boards, and bought my paint for the study - love saving money :j

Just need to get on with it now, the Decorator is coming a week on Monday to do the difficult bit (papering the feature wall) - Normally I do all our papering, bit this is a pre-pasted (quite expensive) paper in black, and Im a little worried about the seams shrinking and being able to see the magnolia underneath, so leaving it to the professionals in this case!

DS1 and DS2 have decided at the last minute that they don't want an Xbox for Christmas and have both presented me with new lists
Good job I hadn't already sorted it!
We also bought the 2nd installment of our bike rack for the car which we will need for our Xmas Trip to Centreparcs. We have hired bikes the past 3 times we have been, annoying, if we had bought a bike rack first time round it would have paid for itself - This time though we decided to bite the bullet. Bought the roof bars last week, 2 cycle carriers this week and hopefully the remaining 2 cycle carriers next week. DD's bike will fit in the boot - Hopefully we will get our money's worth in the Spring when we will be able to tour round and visit some nice cycle routes as a family - Happy Days :)
