  • Thanks IMD and Macgirl - apparantly on the Tuesdays they do training work with a coach and Thursdays they go for a run usually between 3 and 6 miles which I think is within my capabilities, so I think I will wait until the snow has cleared and give it a go!
Off to work in a bit - going to try and take something along with me to keep me occupied, otherwise the day drags soooooo sloooooowwwwwllllyyyyy!
Did my scratchies this morning - 35p which I'm quite pleased with and other than that, nothing much else to report
    Have a good day everyone!:hello:

  • Well just 20p on the scratchies and no sales for a couple of days
I am at home though, so am aiming to be productive. I am expecting a phonecall from a customer who rang yesterday and spoke to OH - he wants to pay me some money :j Its for some ongoing work, and much needed at the moment.
Our MOT is due on Monday, service is well overdue and car tax is due at the end of the month also
On another positive note, our other house, looks like it is finally rented out, with tenants moving in on Monday (fingers and toes crossed) so that will be the end of 2 x mortgages to pay (well - we haven't actually been able to pay 2 - more a case of one, one month and the other the next)
The rental will actually produce some monthly profit though, so better and better.
Today is the day that OH has to go and see that Company where he went for an interview about 6 weeks ago - they want to see him for a chat - whatever that means - I really hope it leads to something though!
Have a nice day if you're reading this

Brilliant news on the rental, will keep everything logistically crossed for you that it works out.

Will keep everything crossed for your OH's interview. Any more news on your interview?

  • Hiya IMD! - My interview is next Wednesday - I rang this morning though, to find out a little more about it (and to confirm my attendance) and was pleasantly surprised and encouraged when she knew who I was straight away and even invited me down for a coffee if I can make it before the interview to have a look round.
OH went to see about his job today and came away with very mixed emotions - firstly he was offered the job - but he thinks its way beneath him (which it is) and blames me for wanting him to take it - my position is that any job is better than no job, but he really resents me at the moment and we seem to be doing nothing but row  - Secondly, they have told him that they are going to do a credit check on him as the last person who had the job was a gambler and stole from them! - If that is the case, then he is screwed on the credit scoring, but it seems so unfair to summise that someone who has debt is also a thief.
On a more positive note, my order came today from Phoenix (I am a Phoenix Trader and sell cards to make a bit extra money) so I need to crack on with getting the catalogues out there, and some orders coming in. I also telephoned my client who paid me £500 over the phone for the Interior Design work I am doing for him, so that is a bonus
Hope we have a better evening tonight - I hate falling out

Hope your evening improves Miss O. Sounds like his pride and unfortunately you do take it out on those nearest to you, not that that's any consolation. If it helps I'm sat upstairs as my OH is being an !!!!! as we had a stressful row about kids. Sure you'll sort it out but it is horrible when you row. I know it sounds ridiculous but me and OH were agring loads and so we made some rules - never to argue after 9pm and to discuss it the next morning, to allow each other 10 mins speaking without interrupting and if it can't be resolved talk in the morning. Bizarrely by the next morning it doesn't seem to matter.

Good news on your job front though :j Focus on the positive!

  • Thanks IMD - that's really good advice, I will try to remember to follow it!
I really want the job next week, I can't even think about what I will do if I don't get it. I am usually very good at interviews, but I think whilst being positive is one thing, I also need to prepare in case I don't get it.
Already planning for next week is proving a nightmare. OH needs a car for his new job, so straight away, I can't get to work and we have no one to collect the kids from school. Im sure we can work round it but it seems so stressful!

Sounds like a stressful few days!!! :o

Is it legal for them to do a credit check on him? Sounds a bit off to me
It sounds too like your OH is too much of an entrepreneur to take any job really. I really feel for him having to just take something that he's over qualified for......it is tough. I hope you can work it out :)

Yours sounds really positive though! Don't prepare for "if you don't get it", just do as IMD said and "focus on the positive".
Will it be an interior design job? It sounds really good, I'm all excited for you! :j

Everything crossed for the MOT ;)
  • Hi MacGirl - You've hit the nail on the head really about OH - I must admit the credit check sounds dodgy to me too, but the job involves dealing with money, so I'm not sure.
The job Im going for is not Interior Design, (which I already do - and have a website which brings in a fair wage, but not enough) - This job is in a children's centre, which is something ive also done before in the past and do like, so I need to do lots of research and practice questions for Wednesday.
Thanks for the lucky MOT vibes - its going in at 10am tomorrow so fingers crossed!

  • Well just 20p on scratchies today - does anyone know what the minimum payout on Butlins is?
I'm off for coffee with a friend today who I lost touch with about 2 years ago, but she heard I had moved back and managed to get my number from someone - so I am looking forward to catching up.
Sold another book on amazon - only £4 but every little helps.
Its free listing on Ebay on Sunday as well, so need to have a scour round and see if I have anything left worth selling!
