  • Good Morning Everyone !
Had quite a good start to the weekend - i woke to one amazon and one ebay sale - they were only listed yesterday so I'm very pleased with that - when the money reaches my account, I am going to start tackling a £1500 overdraft I have on an account that we don't even use (it costs us £23 per month interest and often more if the interest sends us over the £1500, so its time it was gone so that I can close the account.
I ran 4 miles this morning :A so I am feeling very pleased with myself.
OH and I are off for a rare night out tonight. He wants to go to see Sherlock Holmes at the pics - I think I have enough Nectar points on my card to exchange for 2 x cinema tickets, so if thats correct, it will be a cheap night too :T
Nights out have been very thin on the ground lately, before we moved back home we didn't go out for 3 years, despite the fact that MIL and step FIL lived 5 minutes away, they never offered once in 3 years to babysit for us - so glad we are back home with family around us who actually care about us :o
Have a good day everyone !

Oooh enjoy Sherlock and the lovely Mr Downey ;)
Think we might venture to the cinema next weekend - I didn't realise you could get tickets with Nectar points, we've got quite a few, so will look into that - thanks.

Great news on the sales too :T Do you post Worldwide on Amazon or just UK? I think I'll stick to UK in future as it eats into the profits too much

    Have a nice evening!
  • Good Morning everyone :hello:
Well, really enjoyed my night out last night - more so because it was TOTALLY FREE!!! Well, it was until we stopped off for a takeaway on the way home!
Seriously though, the film was great, I can highly recommend Sherlock Holmes, Robert downey Jnr is brilliantly cast. I might have looked a bit like a tight wad paying for the tickets with my nectar card, but for future reference, you can use nectar points in any VUE cinema as long as its not a 3D film. I also took along a box of choccs left over from Christmas and a can of pepsi in my handbag, so didn't even have to fork out for the snacks :T
Our original plan was to go to Frankie and Bennys beforehand, where we would have spent £35-£40, so I don't feel too bad about the £15 takeaway, especially not since I arrived home to a £24 ebay sale.
Macgirl - I just sell in the UK on amazon, as I agree, its a bit hit and miss what profit you will make on books, I still don't understand how these people can list for 1p and still make money, as in my experience, the postage is about £1.41 and I don't think you get much more than that do you for the postage credit?
anyway, off to Mr T's now, Ive done a meal plan so will try and reign it in a bit.
    Have a good day everyone!

  • Almost forgot to mention - scratchies this morning netted me £1.30 :j I think that is the most I have ever had, Butlins gave me a £1 and then a 20p (never had more than 10p) - I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I used some of my free winnings to play a couple of games of bingo yesterday? - Wouldn't surprise me! - I also got 10p from Virgin - better than nothing!

Well done on your free evening out :j

You are allowed to treat yourself, if you don't the whole debt journey becomes completely burdensome! It's things like taking your own food that makes it even better because you know you're not supposed to. By getting a chinese and not going for a full meal out shows that you are a real debt buster!

Well done on the run as well :D

Yep, sounds like a very MSE night, well done :T
Glad you enjoyed the film too. There is a VUE near work, where a few of us are planning to see A Single Man (think that's the title), so thanks for that top tip!

    Have a good week x
  • Evening All!
Quite a good day today - was very quiet at work, but despite being bored, managed to watch what I ate all day - it was a NSD apart from posting off Ebay parcels, but we don't count that do we (seeing as we have charged the buyer for postage?)
Just run another 4 miles :A and found out that there is a running club very close to me that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm - just need to pluck up the courage to go now - I know its good to step out of your comfort zone, but why is it so bl00dy hard?! :o
Anyway, gonna watch a bit of TV and try and get an early night, did not sleep very well at all last night, I am hoping the run will help

Join the running club - it was honestly the best thing I have ever done. I emailed them first to introduce myself so that they knew I was coming and then turned up. I was supposed to go with a friend but she chickened out and I was sh***ing myself. I have made some really good friends there and we mix with them socially as well - oh and I also run better :D

It is scary but just do it, you will be really pleased when you do

I posted a similar response a minute before IMD - but it seems to have disappeared
Anyway, I've been a few times with my friend to her running club and was amazed at how much further I ran and how easy it felt. My friend loves it, has become good friends with a few of them and won't make plans on club nights.
    So defo go for it!
