  • Friday at last...:j:j

I woke up at 6am this morning in terrible pain, its that time of the month - its this time of month i hate being female  must remember to stop by boots on the way to work.

40 days today until i can buy a car :j on my ipod touch i have this apple application where i can count down to special events, the bid day app, i have Bahamas on there in November, which is 224 days, and its 40 days until i have enough money to buy my very first car - so exciting! More exciting because i won't be getting finance.

Must start getting ready for work..

  • Ooo I love countdowns. See I need an ipod touch. Any excuse!

  • I love countdowns too - check it everyday - counting down the days!

Few changes, i have decided to get a Ford KA, i have done a bit of research and they are a reliable 1st car, and cheap to run. I have seen a few for £1.5K, so i should be able to get it at the end of the month - fingers crossed. Hopefully by xmas time i should be able to get a car i really want - Mini or something bit more sporty. So exciting - just want my 1st car.

Not much else happening at the mo - had a very low spend weekend, around £10 spent, however i need to go shopping this weekend for a new outfit for next Saturday, plan to spend no more than £35.

  • i don't think i'm going to have enough at the end of the month to get the car, i'm £300 short  so i may have to wait until the end of May after all. Ah well, what's another 4 weeks.

    xxx
  • Aw, at least it's only 4 weeks! It will come sooner than you think!

My job is not in the same town as hubby as I'd hoped, so I have to get on the saving bandwagon & start looking for a 2nd car for him. :(

  • I hope you manage to find a new car Retro for a good price.

I've managed to save the extra - so i should hopefully be able to get a KA for around £1.5K in the next few weeks :j can't wait to have my own set of wheels. Just be fab not have to rely on my OH.

Had a lovely weekend, shopping (only spent £16 on a top, and £14 on food bits) i probably would've spent more but tried to withdraw some money out and it told me to contact my bank - some fraudulent transactions had taken place  so i was £120 down - but the bank refunded that immediately. I now have to wait for my new card - such a pain. I was very impressed how Barclays dealt with it though.

Sold some bits on ebay tonight, so thats £20 coming to me, not a lot but all adds up!

Off to transfer £10 i have in Take a Break account from free scratchies.

    Hello,

I haven't been on here for a wee while, have been absolutely awful money wise but am going to really try to get back on track. Have just had SO much going on, one of my best friends is getting married in a couple of weeks and I am a bridesmaid, it was her hen weekend last weekend which ended up costing me a fortune. I am such an idiot, there were a lot of people going that I didn't know that well and I ended up buying lots of new clothes etc so that I looked nice for the weekend. I also feel that I am spending a fortune on driving lessons and not really getting anywhere....I went out with my dad today and just got so nervous, because I didn't know the roads etc....not good. I am fine with my instructor though and am getting more confident. Have my theory test booked as well. I really want to get a little car when I pass - have my eye on a mini! Have you picked out your car yet? I am so jealous! Hope all is well with you. x

Hi Kirstin - glad to see you back! I've not been around much either - not being very MSE either - naughty! We all need to have fun Kirstin, so don't feel guilty about spending money, i hope your friend has a lovely wedding. Re the driving lessons, i felt the exact same as you, i was having lessons and not learning anything, really depressed me as i was just chucking money down the drain. I was glad of the practice after though, its always good just to practice driving around, get yourself used to other road drivers. Good luck with your theory chick.

Day off for me today. I had plans to get lots done, but it never works out like that does it. Instead i popped into town, went into Primarko, never really been a fan, but was lovin' it today. Picked up so much, was just chucking it in my basket, got to the till thinking this is going to be an expensive one, and i was shocked when she said £23, was well impressed with that - considering the amount i got. I even picked up some summery beach bits for my holiday at the end of Nov, thought best get some bits now when i see them and put them away, as come November i won't be able to find a lot of summer stuff. I bought a top from Miss Selfridge last week, wasn't all that, and it cost £25. When i think what i bought from Primark for £23, then compare it all to one OK top, it makes you think doesn't it. I think i may stick to Primark. Only thing that shop does have it times when its just horrible junk, i must of caught it on a good day lol.

Still have no car - I have £1,500 in the bank, but i still need a few more hundred for the insurance, so i'm waiting till the end of May to get my broom broom - yay!

Not much else planned for the day. Spend the eve with OH when he gets in from work. He's on early shift today so should be home by 4. Then we have relax together and watch Man United Arsenal later.

Just ordered the new CIARA album with my Nectar points. The album came out today and i saw it in the shops for £8.99, wasn't prepared to pay that when i will probably only like a few of the tracks. So i checked my Nectar account and i have enough points to order it for free. I do TNS surveys and i make most of my points from them. When the CD arrives, i think it gets sent from CDWOW - and all their CD's are sent from Japan, so when it arrives i'll download it to my Iphone, and then sell it on Amazon.

    xx

    Hello!

Sounds like you are doing well, I agree about Primark, it is a total hit or a miss isn't it? I got some lovely little dresses from there last summer but there is nothing nice in my local one atm..though we did buy a new shower curtain from there the other day, for the princely sum of £3! :rotfl:Why pay more, eh? I am dead jealous of your wee car, did you decide what car you are going for yet?

I am glad I am not the only one that is not being very DFW at the moment - to put it bluntly I am being terrible! Everything this year just seems to be money, money, money! I needed a lot of dental work done, my driving lessons cost a fortune, not to mention paying for provisional, theory test, practical test etc, plus I spent a fortune getting ready for my friends hen weeked last week! I am not very confident with people I don't know all that well and there were a lot of them at the hen weekend, so I got my hair cut and dyed, eyebrows waxed and bought quite a few new clothes etc for the weeknd - not cheap! Plus I have a holiday booked that I have to pay the balance of by next month!

Am feeling really down about money this afternoon to be honest...I have enough to cover everything but I hate not being able to put anything in my savings account so far this year. Sorry for the moan, hope everything is good with you!
