Not seen this mentioned anywhere else but Kent Reliance currently have two fixed accounts, either 1yr or 2yr @ 6%.

I have opened a Halifax Guarenteed Saver Reward too but on the account screen it does not say the reward bit and interest rate is showing as 4.5% instead of 6%

Just checked mine and it also says just "Halifax Guaranteed Saver", and the rate is NIL - but that migt be because I have not yet put funds into it while I was still looking around for possible better alternative accounts. I'll probably transfer the funds in over the weekend.

Just logged into the 6.5% e-bond I opened last week with Yorkshire BS to find it's now been locked and not accepting any more deposits!!!! I'd only managed to put a few hundred quid in so far whilst waiting for Icesave funds to be returned :wall: :wall: :wall:

I opened one of these too and managed to squirrel away 30k (originally in ING!) before it closed. So, thankful for that. :j

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find fixed rate accounts that actually allow you to add deposits. You would have thought these people were crying out for our money!

I think your best bet would be Birmingham Midshires. They offer a decent rate, you can add and (according to the chap I spoke to yesterday - had to ring them because they had not sent me a user name or activation code) it is not going to close imminently.

Just trying to get through to B&B to find out whether I still have time to add to the e-Saver (issue 3) I opened a few weeks ago. I'd decided to ditch it in favour of the YBS one so haven't deposited any funds into it yet and I'm fairly sure there was a time limit to do that

I know the rate has dropped from 6.51 to 6.01 but it's better than most at the moment.

I have just transfered some funds into the B&B Internet saver 3 this morning. There is a slightly better rate on their eSaver issue 6 account at 6.10%.

Just looked at that but they want minimum £1k to open it which I don't have immediately available to me.

The line is continually engaged at the moment so no doubt by the time I get through to them they'll have closed the account to any more deposits too!

I had an email from them yesterday and the rate for the internet saver 3 has been changed to 5.85% back dated from 2nd November due to the .5% interest rate reduction in October. So no doubt they will drop it another 1.5% shortly. I am fed up with the B and B to be honest.

Thanks for this, it's helped to make up my mind not to bother pursuing this account after all ;)

At least I've still got Egg 6.3% but that ends next June so was hoping to try secure another 12mth+ fixed rate account.

When I opened this account in October the rate was 6.51% then a week later they cut it to 6.01% now you say it's 5.85%?

You are referring to the Internet Saver 3 and not the E Saver 3 are you?

If the reason for the drop of 6.01% to 5.85% was the 0.5% reduction bank rate in October, what was the reason for the drop from 6.51% to 6.01%?

So glad I only got round to putting in £150. The money I intended for that account, I actually put in Coventry BS 50 Plus eSave fixed at 6.25% with instant access and no penalites...rare eh?

Having said that, I'm having trouble getting my Web ID out of them and I'm not the most patient of people.
