  • Wouldn't put up with that at all. I'd expect mine repaired and a similar model on loan.

If they couldn't do that i'd simply return it back to the shop and TAKE my refund.

Don't think it is down to what they think but what the position at law would be.

So instead of advising the OP to borrow a TV, or get one from freecycle the compensation culture sue them bunch will tell the OP to write a letter stating they expect a loan unit, and when that fails take them to court.

Meanwhile the OP has a TV that is unwatchable, and no computer screen.

Why do people make things so difficult for themselves?

A simple answer has been suggested, but no the advice he is going to get is to put it in writing demanding a loan unit or replacement.
  • Irrelevant. If the purchaser has paid for a service - he should recieve it.

If you had cold food brought in a restaurant would you take it home and cook it yourself or would you tell the vendor to sort it out.

    Personally. i'd choose the latter.

You see without people sueing other people, Tozer would be out of a job so it is in his interests to keep people sueing each other

But how long will it take to sort out?

Legally you have to give the retailer the chance to sort it out, therefore thats letters to and fro before the court action starts.

He may well get the service you expect, but not soon.

I wouldn't be out of a job at all. Thanks for being concerned about my career though. Really no need though.

Brilliant. Shoulder pads went out with Dynasty. What do you do for a living buddy?

Surely this must be the most pathetic insult ever? Shoulder pads!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Your catching on ;) Although the suggestion was failing a replacemnt, to demand a refund, not take court action, if they refuse to refund, replace or repair,....I would take them court yes.

So instead of borrowing a TV, and getting theirs repaired, the OP writes letters, waits weeks and then takes court action?

I would borrow a TV and let them repair the plasma, lots of people on here seem to want to make life difficult for themselves, rather than easier.

So when the shop staff refuse you, as they don't have the authority to do it, you will force your way pas them to the till?

How long before the police turn up?

Common sense seems to have gone out of the window in modern compensation culture Britain.
