If you have a 'POPLA code' offered in that letter from PE, simply use one of our examples (in the 'Newbies read these FAQs first' thread) and send it to POPLA, and you WIN.

Or you could email PE and give them the name and address of the driver who was of course not the registered keeper (only works if you haven't said who was driving in any appeal or on the phone). That gets you a win as well as the driver can then appeal and win at POPLA.

Don't ask for a link to the Newbies thread. Use the 'Forum Jump' (bottom right of this page, click 'GO') and read the top threads for yourself. That's where you should be reading, not here. And that's where the New thread button is but, to be fair, this is covered every single day on other threads, so read some about PE!

And stop RINGING debt collectors. Zenith are nobody, just a letter writer, surely you realise that, why are you taking debt collectors seriously where there is no credit agreement, no debt? Please don't answer here as you posted in the wrong place and need to use the Forum Jump.

Start your own thread, this one is completely inappropriate for your query. Be prepared for some, ahem, robust responses though!

    I apologise, I'm typing 1 handed.

Last month we received a parking ticket from parking eye, for a hospital in London.

1, it's not even our car in the picture, not even the same make as ours.

2, neither of us have been to London.

Do we ignore the letter? Or do we have to get in touch with them?

    Thanks in advance.

And sorry if it's in the wrong place, joined today to get some advice.

  • Thanks to all those who posted example appeal letters. I have just successfully appealed to POPLA about 'Care Parking' on the standard grounds covered on this forum. I highlighted the poorly lit signs at night and small purple font, taking pictures to prove it's unreadable at night when I was ticketed.

So a slightly different question. I am considering invoicing them, with the opportunity for a prompt payment discount :), for my time incurred in researching and writing. I am considering using a claim via the small claims court as a non-payment sanction. Does anyone know of any precedent here?

I'm not financially motivated and quite happy to pay the court fees to make the point. What has angered me about the whole situation is that I think it's socially irresponsible for metro link/care parking to 'charge' metro link customers for overnight parking. In my mind at least we should be encouraging the use public transport to reduce drink driving. I have written to TfGM and will probably write to to the local papers to make my point.

Yep you can try and why not, it's been discussed and has worked before:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=85641

MSE regular poster BenefitMaster (aka Biker Paul on pepipoo) has a claim against ParkingEye - still onging.

The link also shows Derek Donovan showing how NGP paid his PCN for £250.

Also GertySingh on here may have a tale to tell one day and might have tips!

  • I would just like to let you know that yesterday I received a letter from the above named company in reply to the template letter I sent after posting a thread regarding a parking charge notice I received which I believed was incorrectly issued.

The letter stated that they had decided to cancel the ticket as a goodwill gesture & that I was to be assured that this matter is now closed on their system.

I would like to thank the people on the forum who responded to my various questions as I had never received one of these tickets before.

Special thanks to Coupon-mad, pogofish, Edna Basher, redex & not forgetting Martin Lewis for this fantastic website.

I would recommend anyone who has received one of these tickets to follow the advice given & follow through the appeal process.

Many thanks again for all your help.
  • Parking 'ticket' issued on my vehicle end of March 2014 by JAS Parking solutions while vehicle was parked at B&M Bargains Stockport - reason - leaving the car park (for about 20 minutes) even though I had actually been in to B&M and made purchase. Ignored the 'ticket'. In September received Parking Charge Notice from Parking Debt Collectors for £114. Appealed based on unfair reason for issue, disproportionate amount and other reasons. They refused my appeal. I then found that the time between the issue of the 'ticket' on vehicle and the PCN exceeded that which is allowed (Freedom of Information Act 2012). Appealed again on this ground. JAS would not really comment on this - just replied I had to go to POPLA if I wished to continue with appeal. Sent appeal to POPLA, received reply today that all charges have been cancelled. Thanks to all information I have read on this site (and also 'Parking Cowboys' website). Chuffed that I 'won' the appeal, but has been a lot of mither and time to do so, but absolutely worth it was such a ridiculous reason for issue of a parking 'ticket'.
