Ive got a strong dislike for Parent/child/offspring spaces, as:
they are nothing but a gimmick.
And they give people a false sense on entitlement leading to a belief that they can and should use disabled bays if no P&C bays are available.
All that P&C bays do is remove the true value of a disabled bay.
If/when I have been in a busy car park I have sometimes used the P&C bays if no other spaces have been available, and if theres only disabled bays ive either trundled round for a bit/stopped up out of the way ( until a space is available ) or gone elsewhere.

That falls under sex discrimination. it will need to be an Owner-and-Cat space

Parent-and-cat please. Tiddles does not consider himself to be anyone's property and is offended by your implication.

I couldn't use the quote function as it had a link in and it wouldn't let me copy it. I also have 2 older children which I don't mind parking in normal spaces as they are easy to get out, I didn't mention them. Alls I'm bothered about is getting the baby seat out without damaging anyone's car. Any way I said I was wrong for parking in a disabled to begin with, it was a one off. So get off your high horse key board warriors. Parent and child spaces are not gimmicks, they are there for a reason, to help people. I suppose you don't go to supermarkets, you must grow your own fruit and vegetables and slaughter your own animals to eat, if your so against them and all their 'gimmicks'! Anyway to begin with I said I was wrong, if you got your facts right! All I did was post about my success in getting ticket over turned, and you all jump down my throat. No need. And what a sad life you must live on your little farm to have nothing better to do than have a go at people for something that has nothing to do with you.

I'm very pleased you got your ticket overturned by using the free advice here (all written by Coupon-Mad) even though it's nothing to do with us.

Glad to have helped you with the advice here which got the ticket cancelled anyway.

In fact having an older two kids (as long as they aren't both pre-school little ones) is even more reason why you may not even need to struggle to get the baby seat out once parked, but if you can't work out how to get the baby & seat out and briefly minded safely by an older sibling or OH or friend before parking, I really can't be bothered to explain. Of course I shop in Supermarkets, of course I can work out how to get a baby seat out, been there done that and never went near a disabled bay. Get that sense of entitlement out of your head and you will be fine next time you see the silly gimmick bays are full. You will even realise you never needed them.
Is this the appeals successes and failures thread??

    Hello,

Before Christmas I was issued a PCN from Premier Park Ltd because I had mis-spelt my number plate by a single digit. As they use ANPR their computer simply did not match up my car with the pay and display I had paid for, which covered me to park there all day (a mere £2).

Two weeks later a PCN arrived through the post for £100 (£70 if paid within 14days. Fortunately the pay and display ticket was still in the foot-well where I had filed it ;).

I appealled straight away on the grounds that a) I had simply made a human error when entering the reg no. into their machine and at no point exceeded my stay or tried to avoid paying the parking charge; and b) I had paid £2 to park all day so they had incured zero losses by my mistake.

Had a letter yesterday that confirmed my PCN was cancelled but they went on to say "however no further appeals will be upheld for this reason."

So success but how arrogant of them to add that last comment. I should write back and remind them that they would never be able to justify any losses (upto £100 for the PCN) in this senario if we went to the appeals court (cannot remember its name), even if I did make the same mistake again.

Thanks for the advice posted on this forum. Its is extremely useful and reassuring.

Be grateful, you could have had the 'On this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill......' template! :)

    Well done, anyway.

Hi all I received a letter through the post on Thursday the 22nd of January a NOTICE TO OWNER PCN from my local council for parking in a car park they have just taken over from tescos they took over on the 18th of December and my ticket was issued on the 19th prior to the council taking over you could park there for upto 2hrs free wich I've always done had I need to go to town an wasn't aware of any changes I went to buy my wife a surprise gift wasn't there long when I was going back to the car it rained heavy I ran to car not paying much attention climbed in popped window wipers on never noticed a parking ticket Wether it has blown of with wipers or something I don't recall seeing one an just drove off if I'd noticed it I'd be able to pay half of my fine wich I'd have rather done than pay thdc £50 they are asking for, I'm feeling I should dispute this but not sure on how to fill the letter out, I'm disputing on the grounds I wasn't aware of change in the car park an it's not clearly marked out I should pay although I only intended to be quick in an out sort of thing an like I said earlier I've always parked there for upto 2 hrs free so never crossed my mind I'd have to pay now a genuine mistake here Wether the council see it that way is another thing any help much appreciated many thanks Ryan
