Thanks MSE for all the tips and templates on how to appeal private parking charges. I followed all the advice on the newbies thread and found a template from a person who had received a parking penalty in exactly the same car park a few weeks previously (Norwich Riverside Retail Park, managed by High View Parking) I copied this to the letter and today received notification from POPLA that my appeal had been successful based on the following:
The Appellant has made a number of submissions, however, I will only elaborate on the one submission that I am allowing this appeal on, namely that the parking charge amount does not represent a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
Thank you!!!0 -
Well done on your success - but the better thread to post this in, is 'POPLA decisions' which is hosted by Crabman in the third sticky thread from the top of this forum. Please can you post it there as well?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have been issued with a parking ticket but when trying to pay it (forgot to put a ticket on to get free parking - doh!) by phone or online the vehicle details registered to the ticket number are not the ones for my vehicle and the fine is greater than as stated on the ticket and online says there is no record of a ticket for the registration number given (i.e. mine) Does this make the ticket void and therefore should I appeal?0

I got a ticket for picking up/ dropping off at Newcastle Airport, last June (2013). By U K P raking Patrol I was directed to this site and used advice and Templates on here.
Glad to report That the ticket has now been rescinded and I do not have to pay.
I used " insufficient signage" but I see that they have now replaced to original signs with larger better laid out ones. I also went for " the monetRy penalty is over what they would lose". And also that they did not have jurisdiction to attempt the fine.
Thank you to everyone on here, if I hadn't, found this site I would have probably paid up and fumed ever since.
Thank you all0 -
I won my appeal with POPLA. :rotfl:
My car overstayed it's welcome in a free for 2 hours car park run by Parking Eye in Leyland, Lancs. I used a template letter from one of your regular helpers to fight my ticket on the following basis:
A) Not a genuine pre-estimate of loss. Not the landowner - therefore no contract made
C) Poorly worded / prominent signage.
They were prompted to supply various pieces of evidence including a breakdown of their alleged loss, contract with the landowner etc etc.
Parking Eye didn't bother to submit ANY evidence whatsoever and their speculative invoice was dismissed by POPLA.
Thank you MSE!! :T  :j
If anyone wants to see a copy of my appeal, free free to pm me.0 -
