    Mortgage-free Glee!
Don't post regularly anymore as I have little OS to share these days and thought chat was now frowned upon - but I don't care - too many of you seem to be having really tough times just now so I'm sending my best wishes anyway.
    Pen-Pin - thinking of you
Essex-girl - hope today went as well as it could
Taplady - my love to you and your friend - this is such a horrible disease

    Hi again

I thought I'd pop back and add another ((hug)) to all those who need them - it really has been a couple of bad news days for a lot of people on here, by the sounds of it.

taplady - please do not lose hope for your friend. A friend of mine was diagnosed with ovarian cancer earlier this year, and by the time she was diagnosed it had spread all over the place and they were pretty sure there was nothing much they could do. Lots of chemo and a radical hysterectomy later, she is having all sorts of good news from the docs and is "cautiously optimistic". I wish your friend all the strength she will need to have a chance of getting through this. Hugs.

Thanks you for all the thoughts for my colleague's family. I must correct a mistake in my earlier post - he has one daughter and one son (I work for a medium-sized company and it's been a long time since I worked with him closely, at which point his eldest was just a baby, so I lost track of what the second one was). On my way out of the office this evening I saw a picture of the two of them on his desk and they are just gorgeous - it breaks my heart to think of them losing their Dad, even though I've never met them. It probably sounds harsh to say this but in some ways it would be easier to accept if he had died in a car crash or been murdered - at least then there would be somebody to blame. But nobody seems to know yet if it was a heart attack, or a brain haemorrhage, or what  I'm guessing they've had the PM by now but nobody from work has heard anything.

A BIG happy birthday to your Nan, catowen :)

    Rzl xx
