Vicky A so sorry to hear about your pupil. Meant to say that about 15 years ago I was playground supervisor at my son's primary school and one of my youngest DS's classmates was found to have cancer. I can remember standing on the school playing field watching the funeral cortege go by - absolutely heartbreaking. She was a smashing blonde haired little girl. Such a waste of a young life.

Taplady - such very sad news. Hope you get to spend some quality time with her tomorrow.

Catowen - 100 years old. She will get a telegram (or equivalent from the Queen then!!) Hope my nan would reach that milestone as she was still going strong at 94 many years ago, but, sadly it wasn't to be.

Right, off to make a cuppa, have a cupcake and sort out how to set the timer on the new breadmaker. Nighty night all
  • Evening all,

Not been online for a few days, the time seems to be flying past this week! Placement is going well, settling in nicely & will be good to get to grips with it & understand what I’m doing a bit more. Not much OS in this post but as it’s my first chance to post this week, what the hell!!!!!

Not had a chance to catch up on the happenings so far, but I gather there are belated birthday wishes due to Betheebee! Your house sounds fabulous.
Taplady, sending positive vibes for your DS too. Ouch to the car insurance…
Good luck on your exam tomorrow too. Happy 100th Birthday to your nan for tomorrow – will she get her telegram from the queen (or the equivalent!)?
EssexGirl, hope today was as ok as it could be.
PenPin, thinking of you & hope it all goes alright. You will be fine.
Candygirl, hope your DD’s move goes ok, and you have the excitement of the scan to look forward to tomorrow J
BargainRzl, what awful news – and no matter whether you were close to someone or not, it still comes as a shock. Like you say, it makes you realise how short life can be & that you have to get out there & grab yours with both hands.
Diva, rant away J And then eat more cheesecake…!!!! Hope it gets sorted soon – drives you round the bend when you keep getting bounced backward & forwards like that…

(((((((big hugs)))))) to pink, taplady, vickya and everyone else who needs them.

Rzl What an awful thing to happen

taplady I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I do know how you feel, OH and I went through it earlier this year, with a very dear friend he had stomach cancer. We'd known each other for 32yrs, gone on holiday together, laughed, cried, danced, went to each others kids weddings, and Jo his wife and my best friend ever, worked together for years when the kids were all small.Take heart and I hope all goes well when you see her tomorrow xx

Hello and welcome to you Bargainbird and any other newbies I might have missed:wave:

I need a bit of help, anybody know where I can get a grinder from??I have tried various places on the net but they all seem to be too big.
I want it to grind up some Linseed so I can add it to my cereals and use some when baking.
The Linseeds I have are a browny colour, shiney, oval shaped and quite flat, a bit bigger than bird seed. I have been using them as they are but its not easy to chew them up, I am sure they are going down whole most of the time.

Dont laugh but I emptied the pepper grinder out and tried that but it didnt work, then I tried to grind them up in a bowl that didnt work either as they are quite hard, and I ended up with most of them on the floor.
    OH thinks I'm mad :o
ooo what a long post I better go.
