    Morning all:wave:

Kids have just had pancakes with lots of golden syrup for breakfast  . I had yogurt.

I have leftover baked lentils for lunch (and for tomorrow's lunch too). The kids have pitta pizzas, raspberry crumble cake and fruit, OH has sardine sandwiches.

Supper tonight will be potato, bacon and onion hotpot which I was going to do last week but had to abandon because the bacon didn't smell quite right. We'll have it with carrots and peas probably. Have some pears that need urgent eating so they'll be for pudding.

It's my marketing day to day. So I'm off with my basket (and the car) to the butcher for bacon and a joint of gammon to cook for sandwiches, the farmshop for milk, eggs and fruit & veg. I'll pop into Tesco for flour, sugar, butter, juice, coffee and wine.

Got to drive the boys to school in a mo as ds1 has to be there early for a trip.

    morning all!

thanks to those mentioning my DS and his job loss. He will have to move back home for a bit until he finds something else as he will need all his cash to keep his car on the road and pay his insurance which is an astronomical £172 a month:eek: he has told his landlady he is leaving so we will have to 'muck out':D his room at the weekend and leave it as nice as it was when he moved there nearly 12 months ago.
I am looking forward to having him back as I worry a lot about him after him having that nasty car accident a year ago.

Day off today:j booked holiday from work as I've got my exam tomorrow on Anatomy and Physiology so need to revise. Am making some choccie brownies later to take for us all when its over. Also got the man coming to look at the boiler as I had to turn it off this morning as it keeps making horrendous noises:eek: plus got Mr T delivering this morning too!

(((hugs))) to those who are poorly - Mrs_Mix and PP and anyone else x

Better crack on with my list now!

    Morning everyone

Grim, grey and depressing weather here today. Not really cold but horrid nonetheless.

Work this morning, then some cupboard tidying this afternoon I think - I am getting very fed up of cupboards full of "stuff" that might or might not come in useful one fine day. Might go and see if they will let me back in on the flylady thread for some support....I'm sure they will really because they are a nice lot on there :T

Breakfast was left over bread and butter fried and served with scrambled egg
packed lunches are cheese scones from the remoska, HM coconut cake, and fruit
dinner will be whatever I turn the mince into that I took from the freezer just now, with vegetables. Don't have pudding planned yet but we WILL be having some :D

One load of washing done and ready to hang around the bathroom , beds made, bathroom cleaned and kitchen tidied and wiped down.

    Have a good day all.

Sorry to hear of jobs losses and illness folks. My thoughts are with you.
Not much OS going on here apart from defrosting some HM minestrone soup for tea later. I'm off work with this blasted cold which has now taken my voice away!! I've been steaming my head in the evenings which helps and have had Benylin at night which I think helps me sleep for a few hours. However, only one dose left in bottle so will have to go out at some point and see what they have in Boots. Someone here kindly suggested elderflower syrup so I will ask for that. I hope to have just today off and go back to work on Friday, as I've tracked down my old hairdesser and have a much needed appointment on Saturday. I think it would be bad form to be off sick and then turn up on Monday with highlighted and cut hair!
Sorry this has been more of a chat post today but I'm off to bed with the Tightwad Gazette :D

    :hello: Good morning!

Have had a quick read-through of the thread.

Betheebee - :bdaycake: Happy Birthday for yesterday - sorry I missed it, somehow I didn't get on here yesterday at all.

VickyA - I haven't read y'day's thread yet but I gather the news wasn't good for your Mum - big (((HUGS))) to you both. So sorry to hear about your little pupil as well - how awful that he's had to go into a hospital so far away.

Essex Girl - hope all goes as well as possible today, thinking of you xx

Taplady - So sorry to hear about your son's job, hopefully he'll find another one soon but in the meantime I know you'll enjoy being able to make a fuss of him.

Penny_Pincher - thinking of you, hope you slept okay.

Kaatlady - Have a lovely time when you go to Edinburgh. When are you planning to go? Not right away, I gather.

Catznine - Will read y'day's thread in a minute to find out what contraption you've had strapped to you all night!

Chrisca - Glad you were pleased with your bread! And, of course, that you had a lovely time at the Christening. Our DGD is being Christened on &th Dec. She's a lot older than her brother was at his Christening and I suspect she will want to spend the whole service walking up and down the aisle:D

Having lunch with Churchmouse today, so really looking forward to that :D

The other day I thought it was time to re-organise my dry-goods cupboard - this was after I got fed up with things falling out on top of me:rolleyes: (Actually, DS took the doors off the cupboard a few years ago because he was going to paint them while we were away on holiday, for a surprise, and the doors have somehow never been either painted or put back on, so I suppose really they are shelves rather than a cupboard - anyway I digress). The pasta lives at the back of the shelf, and I can't always see what's there because I can't face moving all the stuff that's at the front (lots of jars of spices, herbs, etc). It turned out that I had 3 bags each of tagliatelle, penne and fusilli, all partly used; 2 partly-used packets of 3-colour fusilli; as well as 2 new packets of spaghetti I hadn't even known were there:o and the other pastas I did have only one packet of. Isn't it strange how pasta tastes different according to what shape it is:D Anyway, I won't need to buy any more pasta for ages now!:p

DH and I had to go over to DD2's yesterday afternoon to look after DGS while DD fetched DGD from nursery. She had to go and pick up DGS earlier in the afternoon because they rang to say he had a temperature of 40.6 deg, so he'd outdone hinself, never been quite that high before! He was cooling down by the time we got there. Seems to be the same virus DGD had at the weekend, but she rarely gets much of a temp, whereas her brother soars to dramatic heights whenever he's ill:rolleyes:

All for now, I'm off to have breakfast and catch up with y'day's thread.

((((HUGS)))) to those in need, and Congratulations to anyone celebrating today.

    ivyleaf xx

    Morning all :D
Gave the kitchen a really good scrub this morning.I'm still struggling to get into any sort of routine with DS2 home and DS1 doing '6th form hours' lol but we have had the go ahead to approach school about DS2 returning  I'm rather scared at the thought of him going back to a huge all boys secondary but he really wants to see his mates so we're off to school for a meeting later to sort out all the practicalities so see even if it can be done..

Lesley yes it'll be worth it in the end and I'm so proud of him how he's just got on with it bless him. It'll get easier I suppose the more ops he has *I'm telling myself that anyway lol*

Making a lemon meringue pie later I made up a batch of pastry and have enough for this today and another couple of pies.I always do it like this as I can't be bothered to make a little bit every day.
Dinner is shepherds pie, will have this when we get back from school,oh well bang goes my day DS1 is back from school already!!
Hope everyone has a great day

    Hello everybody,

Had a very Non-OS day today. :D Actually I did make another batch of passionfruit cordial as YS loves it and went through the whole lot in a few days. No wonder the dentist said he needs 2 fillings. DD decided to stay the night. DGS came up about 3pm and he stayed for tea and DD walked him home. I think OS was glad of a few hours alone. ;) DD bought over some vodka tonight and I'm going to try the toffee vodka. Already written toffee's on my shopping list for Tuesday. :D

Had the same as Ruby for tea tonight except I had lentil shepards pie with mine. It was really humid today. If it's a bit cooler tomorrow I hope to do some yard work. The weeds have really taken over. Better cut this short as I need to have a shower and YS is sitting waiting behind me to have a turn. Hope you all have a great day & <hugs> to those that need them. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
