Hi, all my other hampers are going well (even the whisky one!) but now I have to do my OH secret santa gift. Going to do a mini tea hamper (He's about 40 and loves his yorkshire tea - an oxford man so think quite posh)
Went to whittards for some tea set ideas. Limits £10.
OH picked up a mug from £ shop (says office totty)
I was thinking; some yorkshire tea bags, some sugar lumps, HM rocky road.
Anything else tea related that I could put in?

Finally finished a hamper this morning for my brother and his gf. It was all a bit of a mad dash trying to assemble and wrap it this morning so that my parents could drive it down to them, but worth it in the end.
No pics due to lack of time, but I went for a 'foodie' hamper with the following:
Nice bottle of red wine, 1/2 price so down to £3.99
Basil dipping oil, reduced to £1.30 something
Sweet chilli sauce in fancy bottle, £1.20ish
'Posh' pasta which helped to bulk the box about, £2
'Lazy' garlic and 'lazy' chillies jars, last-minute buy and hence a bit too much - £3.50ish for both
Pitted olives, made to look decidedly nicer by peeling the label off and covering the lid in fabric
Stollen slices and chocolate wafers from Wilkos, £1.67 and £1.77 respectively from Wilkos
And finally, Tesco ownbrand chocolate-covered brazils, raisins and cranberries which I put in a kilner-type jar
All looked great until I cracked out the cellophane - argh, that stuff is evil! The box was far too big for the 1m wide wrap I had, so I guess I need to have a think about how to wrap in the future. How does everyone else cello wrap large boxes/baskets?Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -

Last Xmas I had some quite large hampers to wrap & the cello I had wasn't wide enough so I cut 2 pieces and cellotaped them together to make a wider piece and tbh with all the ribbons cascading down you don't see the join! HTH0 -
Hi all, hope it's OK for me to jump in the deep end here. Have loved the idea of hampers for a long while now but only recently decided to do some for loved ones this Christmas.
Have got loads of great ideas from this fab thread and also the pictures thread has given me some ideas with regard to layout.
I hope in the future to be able to dig out some proper bargains like the rest of you, but for a beginner, don't think I'm doing too badly!
For my friend who I got in Secret Santa we had a £20 min, £25 max limit.
So far I have:
Box - £4
Soap & Glory goodies - £10
And need to get:
Mini Mateus ros! - £1.61
Cadbury giant buttons - £1.66
Pyjamas - £5 - tots up to around £22! :T
Got another two to do, but want to get hers out of the way first. My boxes are black so I want to use red ribbon with black shred and cellophane wrap them, I think they'll be very pretty.
Just looking for some nice cellophane on eBay, and will go to the habadashery for some pretty ribbon!0 -
hi guys thought i would show you two of my finished hampers so far! i am really pleased and would like to thank everyone for their tips and ideas.
hope it works0 -
I'm a bloke invading this thread with my little mugs with chocolates and booze (and perfume for people who don't drink - not in pictures). Total cost each was about £3.50 this is including any delivery costs for items.0

They look fantastic! I have been put off doing hampers because they all seem so much better than anything I could come up with, but yours have really spurred me on to do some now.
So thank you :jI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Hullight, men are just as welcome as women
I think the mug looks fab, how big is the mug, it looks massive! I think it's a great idea to do something like that, and a lot more personal than just buying a gift set. Where did you get your little alcohol bottles from if you don't mind me asking?
Keep up the good work and keep posting the ideas!God is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day
