I think the mug looks fab, how big is the mug, it looks massive! I think it's a great idea to do something like that, and a lot more personal than just buying a gift set. Where did you get your little alcohol bottles from if you don't mind me asking?
Keep up the good work and keep posting the ideas!
The mugs are just normal sized ones from B&M Homestores they were 99p for two.
And the miniatures were from Just Miniatures - I bought from the 99p section but the delivery charge is pretty expensive at £6.99. Can't fault the service though, ordered about midnight Weds, shipped Thurs morning and delivered on Fri morning.0 -
Ok I'm doing a coffee hamper for my mum, she asked for a delonghi coffe maker that does bean to cup (ie grinds the beans and then makes the coffee) thing is thats a teeny bit out of my price range ( an eye watering £300!). So instead I've decided to get her an electric coffee grinder and soem coffee beans. Does anyone know where I can get online the best priced coffee beans? I've only found Wittards and wondered if there was anywhere else. And does anyone have any recommendationd for the coffee grinder?Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0

Their coffee is very yummy! Not sure what postage costs are like as we go to the shop in London. Supermarkets will sell coffee beans too. My mum likes Douwe Egberts.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Leicester M&S had plenty of F1 stuff last week0

they had the F1 2010 album for 99p in Home Bargains today0

Not strictly speaking a hamper or a basket but I've got a collection of foodie things that my Granny likes and have wrapped them as a "tower of treats". I bought the boxes a few months ago from Home Bargains for £1.99 for all of them and a couple more that I haven't used. All in al it came in at just under £25 and includes a litre of coffee baileys, special teas, special biscuits, chocolate and jams.0

dawnteabag -that's a great idea and looks lovely, think I will store that one away for a birthday idea  since all my Christmas presents done and dusted.0

sorry if this has been asked before but can someone tell me where to buy the clear crinkly paper for wrapping a hamper, the kind of stuff florists use. i don't even know where to start looking, many thanks0

I've always bought my cellophane from Hobbycraft - approx £2 a roll and lasts for a good many wrapping assignments.
I've found Hobbycraft has a good selection of coloured, plain or patterned ones which are nice to ring the changes withWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
All looked great until I cracked out the cellophane - argh, that stuff is evil! The box was far too big for the 1m wide wrap I had, so I guess I need to have a think about how to wrap in the future. How does everyone else cello wrap large boxes/baskets?[/QUOTE]
I'll have a go at explaining. cut the paper to go front to back with a little extra for the top. Set aside.
turn the basket at a right angle, and cut another piece, with a little extra i again.
put the basket into the centre of the piece for the sides. bring the sides up, and hold it at the top with a rubber band. tuck tand tape the bottom bits to the side of the basket.
now put the basket on to the other oiece of cellophane, and bring it up. this should now wrap front to back. tuck/fold the loose edges, and secure with sellotape. gather the extra bits at the top, and wrap a twist tie or cellotape, attach a bow, and voila! you are done.
I hope that made sense!Loving the sunny days!0
