Got a lovely hat box in Sue Ryder shop today for a chocoholic hamper for my friend. It was £5.99 but got 20% off.
They have different sizes and colours and are covered in material with a padded lid & cord handle, I think great value and very pretty. They have them in pale pink, white and a gorgeous wine red, will def be back for more.
Will post a pic in the pics thread when done.
This is the box - covered in a silky embroidered material-very girly :cool:0 -
thanks for that vicster, ive never made a hamper before so i dont know where to start lol, the options hot choc is a great idea, as is the ginger and butternut soup, i know nan would love that. Thank you, now if someone could tell me where i could get some cellophane from to wrap my hamper (when is eventually finished and hopefully looked good
) id really appreciate it
Toni,
If you have an ebay account, there is loads and loads of different kinds of cellophane on there. Ebay also sells the pull bows to finish your wrapping off. Alternatively, try florists and local card shops. Hope this helps, and make sure you post a photo when you've finished it!!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -
We don't have many waitrose's in Scotland  Closest one is Edinburgh and about 60 odd miles away! Might try some other supermarkets.
If you knew what my cooking skills were like you wouldn't even suggest this! I can burn water ...
:rotfl:me too!! If you're in Scotland, maybe try gift and tourist shops? You might be able to find whiskey honey too?I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -

Okay, its official, I am hamper mad!!
So far for my papa's whiskey hamper I have:
A 70cl bottle of Glenfiddich whiskey in a nice box
A box of whiskey fudge
A jar of whiskey mustard
Found a recipe for diabetic shortbread so will make some of this
On the look out for whiskey jam and marmalade, and a nice personalised whiskey glass.
Anyone think of anything else suite to a whiskey hamper?
My nanas hamper I have;
Some royal jelly hand cream and hand wash (she has no bath, just a shower)
Will make HM marzipan fruits
Going to get some twinings tea (shes tea mad) and a nice one cup teapot maybe?
She likes ginger too, anyone know of any HM ginger sweet recipes?
I am going to paint my wee ones hand and use it to print gift tags (ill bribe him with choccie buttons) hehe0 -
Sounds great Nikki!! Love the handprint idea for tags! Saw whiskey marmalade in Marks and Spencer today if you have one near? It's got 'Christmas MArmalade' o the label and says underneath that it has whiskey in. Can't wait to see your pics!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0
