Finished Baskets - Part 2

Hi, been lurking for a couple of nights and got some great ideas - just not very arty so hoping can pull my hampers off - the pictures of the hampers are brilliant. I have decided to do one for my brother who wanted some running socks - how can you make them interesting??? Anyway, had a silver giftbox and put in his packs of socks added 2 bottles of Lucozade Hydro Active (Bogof Wilkinsons) and a bag of Sports Mixture. Just needing the cellophane now! Can I ask when you all do yours do you just ask for it at florists? Are they quite willing to sell you it? Apologies if this has been clarified before. Many Thanks.

I am looking to make a hamper for ds1's teacher as he is retiring. according to his wife he likes gardening, golf, cricket and sudoku/crosswords.
my original thought was a gardening hamper but am now thinking more of a crossword/puzzle one with:
crossword book
sudoku book
coffee
biscuits
mug decorated by ds

do you think this is OK for a man and what else could I put in it?

Pair of golfing socks and maybe some hankies? I reckon that sounds fab

Ali - your hamper sounds great, remember to post some pictures as we would love to see it You can normally get cellophane from local florists, this is ideal if you just want to make up the odd hamper. I personally use lots so I buy mine in bulk. you will be charged quite a bit per metre from a florsts. I think mine charges me 20p-30p a metre which is quite a lot but worth it if you are desperate and run out mid wrapping!

I read earlier about an ice cream hamper, so decided to try to do 1 for xmas for my friends boys and I was hoping for your comments. Its not complete yet still need mini marshmallows and some money for ice cream.



Ive also got a large box of ice cream cones and an ice lolly mould thingy to add. Do you think this looks ok so far

Thanks its the first time ive shown anyone anything Ive made. I love the home bargains at Durham so much better than the one at consett. I usually have to wait till my dad or my friend offer to take me

Hi, sorry to bother you all again- but having a nightmare with regards to wrapping up the hamper I never seem to have enough is there a general rule of thumb of size i.e. does it need to be so many inches bigger than the hamper. I had also tried to do a hamper for my friends 40th with a personalised choc. champagne bottle from Thorntons but asked to buy their cello gift wrap but for me to do it at home so that I could also put in 2 miniature bottles but they havent given me enough either. Aargh nightmare!
