How about a journal to record memories, you could pick up a cheap journal and cover it with some fabric. Also a journal jar with printed off questions put into a tub or plastic jar (anything like that) She could then record her answers in the journal??

Have a look around for 'quotes on cats' or something similar -if you can find it a really nice one I've got is Poetry for Cats by Henry Beard. It's basically poems written by Wordsworth and others but from the cats eye view if you know what I mean.

hello, i know a lot of you pick little bargains up here and there and have a stash. I was wondering if any of you would be kind enough to consider doing one for a 13 year old girl who has spent the last 14 months fighting cancer. Her fight is about to get even more difficult and she will be really in need of something to cheer her up. Chemo wipes her out so she has very little energy to do very active things but she likes pampering things, animals, cotton bandaners (although i doubt they are in anyones stash but i guess you never know!) and basicly anything would cheer her up! She is allowed most things at the moment (no chocolate, sweets etc though as ontop of having hodgkins lymphoma she is also a type 1 diabetic) but when she has a transplant she will be very restricted (I'll post on her Post Pal page when thats the case, it wont be for a while yet). Her mum is going to send me the details of what ward she is on (In Alder Hey) so it can be sent direct to the ward as a lovely suprise.

I hope no one minds me asking, i just thought I would incase anyone can help. You can read about Alice here http://www.postpals.co.uk/pals/Alice+P

So far the basket (when I buy one...) contains ice cream wafers, pink wafer biscuits, 2 bottles of sauce, tub of mixed ice cream sprinkles, mini marshmallows, a little book called 'chocoholics', a sundae glass and a funky spoon. I think I'm almost there, I need a nice basket or a nice tea towel to line something I already have :)

Sorry, I know I'm not posting a 'finished hamper', but thought that some may be interested to hear of my latest find ..... 'Chalkboard Storage Boxes', available in a number of colours from 'The Works'. I've got a head like a sieve, but think they were around £3.99.
I can remember some using them for 'kids hampers' last christmas, (Rusty ... was it you :D).

Hi Candy, a few of us used them, we picked them up from Matalan where they were available in only 4 colours I think?

Sounds like a fab find, thanks for letting us know!

OH got a txt last night, one of our friends little girls is turning 5. She loves disney princesses and I would like to try and make up a little something for her.

I so far have a jewelry box with disney princess on it (£1 asda christmas sale)
Make your own scene disney princes (£1 asda christmas sale)

Now I am stuck :rotfl: Anyone suggest something I can get off the high street which is cheap and cheerful but still good quality if that makes sense?

Sian the hamper sounds fantastic me and ice cream are best friends :D

I am sure that they had a pink one.
I should be able to come up with a bit list for you, my DD's loves disney princess (and spiderman , I'll have to have a hunt through all her 'rubbish' and see what we have picked up.

I am sure that I saw a disney princess frisbee in poundland.

Thanks everyone! Alison loved it too & I had a great time playing with the kittens on Saturday (and Wednesday!-Couldn't keep away).

Now planning a car themed hamper for a friend who's currently taking driving lessons. Got a sat 'nag' on order from Play, and have an ice scraper that you can keep in your wallet. Also have a hands free phone set in my pressie drawer somewhere. Got my mum checking The Works for a cheap road map and will have a look in Wilkinsons for some car cleaning stuff. Any other ideas?

I think a car themed one I did is on here somewhere with pictures but can't find it. It was a bucket (to wash the car 79p tesco), then filled it with sponges, car shampoo, car wax, back to black (bumpers etc), air fresheners, fluffy dice, screen wash, chamois, demister pad, de-icer, safety hammer, road map. Got all except the bucket from Poundland.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
