Hi I have just thought of an idea for those of you doing hampers for those getting older.

They need to have a sense of humor though, how about a jar of marbles with a little tag saying "for when you've lost you marbles"
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.

Hi ladies, loving all the valentine hampers. Need some ideas please, my nephew is getting married on valentines day, his g/f and him have 3 girls and have been together for about 4 years. They want vouchers for a wedding pressie but would like to also do them a small hamper, already have 2 champagne glasses and a mini bottle of champagne, also have a small box of chocs, what else can I give them ? all ideas welcome.
    thanks in advance

I went into Ann Summers on thursday and they had champagne bucket with roses and a special invitation inside all for £7:D Just a bit of spice on their wedding night.
Candles, jar of memories(to write about their special day??),disposable cameras, balloons(i know a bit odd but you could fill their room with some balloons), some cheeky valentines stuff??

Erm i've run out of ideas:rotfl:

ZL - OH's already seen me do similar thing for my friend.
Could always take a tip from Larkrise to Candleford - put a couple of black feathers and a sprig of rosemary in a little bag -supposed to keep grey hairs at bay..............second thoughts........bit late for that I think..........lol

rainmac fantastic hampers, that heart really sets it off brilliantly, you've made it so perfect. Love the box card and the mini book. Beautiful.

rusty, there's so many goodies in yours, I really shouldn't but it would be wicked not to help a friend in need, so when OH and rainmac have finished, I'll step into the breech next.:rotfl:
    Great hamper.
All the very best for court, thinking of you all.

Thank you! My OH is working on Valentine's Day  so I've booked a table at Pizza Express the day before (his birthday) for us to have a meal as a family (going to use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to pay, aren't I romantic ;) ) and they ave said I can take a cake and bits to decorate the table then will get some wine and bits for us to have in the evening when the kiddies are in bed.

Your plans sound fab! How about strawberries half dipped in chocolate - yum, yum, yum...

Don't! ... about 20 mins ago I looked at the calendar and realised that valentines night was on saturday :( I am highly annoyed now as I work saturday nights and it will be too late notice to get out of it ... OH was lovely though and said we can do it on the fri or sun :) bless him

Tracy - how about some bubble bath and candles (for them to relax afterwards), a photo frame, chocolates, bath confetti, book of wedding anniversaries (to remind them what to buy in years to come),

Maybe do them a promise voucher eg. I promise to babysit for your first night out as Mr & Mrs ??,

or I promise to tidy your house and mow your lawn for your return from honeymoon (that kind of thing).

    Good luck.

    Super lot of pressies Popkins.......:T

You lot are making me wish I'd done something for OH now.............lol
We don't normally 'do' Valentines Day...........think the only thing I've got that would suit is a big(ish) red heart shaped candle hidden away with my hoard of 'stuff' -can't think why I bought it now. But think I just might wrap it some cello and put a little verse with it.............ideas please ?

    mary - how about:

I wanted to give you my heart today
But you know it’s not mine to give
My heart has been yours for many a year
And will remain so as long as you live

This candle is a symbol of my love for you
And even as the flame burns low
I want you to know that my love for you
    Will only continue to grow

Feel free to chop it/change it (or just ignore it if you think it's carp, lol )
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

These threads make me feel like a right little tealeaf pinching everyones ideas LOL!! One of these days I'll have an originall thought/idea of my own and someone else on here will pinch it and I'll be happy as a skippy lamb!! ha ha!!
  • Thanks popkins :D
I always think my rhymes are rubbish but I enjoy having a go; I'm more than happy for you to use it. Nice to see my other valentine's one is being used as well :)
