    Super lot of pressies Popkins.......:T

You lot are making me wish I'd done something for OH now.............lol
We don't normally 'do' Valentines Day...........think the only thing I've got that would suit is a big(ish) red heart shaped candle hidden away with my hoard of 'stuff' -can't think why I bought it now. But think I just might wrap it some cello and put a little verse with it.............ideas please ?

Sounds lovely mary but I'm rubbish with words, I'll have a think though ;)

You are so funny :rotfl: :j

So can I do it? Maybe a snowman made with quick-drying cement would be better... ;)

    Thanks Sian.

She lives in a first floor flat. Loves flowers but not into plants. Has a tiny courtyard. My DS is her youngest grandchild at 15 months, the oldest is 24! She definitely avoides cooking, baking...:rotfl: She doesn't go to the cinema, loves Daniel O'Donnell, but I have got her cds and dvds of him. Not even sure what she has got now. Her daughter got her a wii for xmas.

She loves spending time with her daughter. She loves my DS, but that is a sore point with me because of the way she has behaved towards me since he was born.

She's not into fashion. I have bought her trinket boxes, Swarvoski crystal things previously, scarves, makeup, flowers, smellies. She has a bath but is not into the nice smelling bath thing...she never uses the shower.

She has a mobile but is no good with technology. She is nearly 70 years old. She loves figurines and has collected things from Disney and religious figurines. She doesn't wear earrings. She gets her make up from Avon through her daughter. I have bought her jewellery before, necklaces but never seen her wear them..doesn't mean she doesn't.

I don't think she likes pamper things like pedicures, manicures, etc.

When I ask her daughter what she would like for her birthday/mother's day, etc, she tells me she doesn't know what to get her either!

I know, its sounds like I am not being very helpful, but after 10 years this is all I know about my MIL, as we don't spend much time with them.

She has a camcorder, has a digital camera, doesn't like the digi and prefers to use her old style camera.

    She likes CSI and Columbo.

How about a journal jar? This is a jar filled with slips of paper with questions on for her to answer in a book. Questions could be things like "describe your wedding day", "what is your ealiest childhood memory?"...

More info on these sites... http://organizedchristmas.com/adult-journal-jar and http://www.dennydavis.net/poemfiles/jrnljar.htm

I made one for my nan for Xmas and wasn't sure if she'd like it but she loves it and has been keeping up answering questions in her book ever since. She is really enjoying re-living the memories.

Does she read? Maybe you could post her a book a month for the whole year (could be charity shop finds).

    Any good?

If it's going to be a struggle for you, I'm happy to help out with all choclate items but flatly refuse to assist with the eating of Marmite or Radox bubble bath.

Yay, where can I get cheap cement from?

Think I will leave the lynx/marmite/beef jerky/radox/tabasco sauce for OH to consume on his own ;)

Er not sure ... if we cannot find it cheaply enough then we could use some no more nails as I hear that is as tough as nails so should be fine ... could even dangle him above some shark infested waters or over a pirahna tank or something ... starve the pirahnas for a few days and they will be fine :D
