Hi I was wondering if you could give me some advice.

My children would like to have gammon as well as turkey for their christmas lunch. Is there a way I can cook it in advance and just reheat what is needed on the day.

Gammon is already in the freezer (not cooked).

I've cooked a joint before and sliced it then froze it for sandwiches but never for lunches.

    Many thanks

I boil mine the day before then on the day, glaze it and throw it in the oven to heat it through

Boxing day I make the soup out of the boiling liquid

This is lovely (honest :)) and you can do in the slow cooker the night before then just put in the oven for a bit on the day :):)

    Many thanks for your replies.

How long would I need to cook it in the slow cooker for? And at what heat high/low?

Could I then slice an freeze as I normally would?

I've only made stock in the slow cooker. I need a crash course in cooking meat in the slow cooker.

    Sorry for all the questions.

I second slow cooked gammon in cola. Thats what we'll be having. I'll put it on low before we go to bed on Xmas eve and just leave it there. No doubt it will fall apart but will be delicious. If its possible to actually carve it, it will be sliced. If not, just hunks. Leftovers for boxing day buffet with chilli jam!
