I have just been on plus.net and fiddled around with e mail settings. I don`t know what I am doing but everything is reversable. 1. spam filtering is off 2. catch all is on 3. edge protection is off
I am no techie and am nervous doing this but we`ll see
I also found avg anti-spam and turned it off0 -
non techie here - how do I 'enable' the spammy thing to recieved this message. I am on hotmail and cannot see where I would go:rotfl:0

this whole thing is absolutely bl***y ridiculous. We aren`t all techie minded 20 year olds. Many of us are new age silver surfers. I am really hopping mad re this fiasco
and I am already getting porno spam e mails from the likes of w**ly.com :mad:0 -
Hey, some of us are techie minded silver surfers!
While some of these emails may well have been blocked by spam filters, than can not be the only reason (see post #56 in this thread) you may not have got the email. I think the two most likely explanations are:
1) That there are more batches waiting to be sent out
2) There are some names missing from the list they are using0 -
I hope so lardycake. I wish I was techie. I was in a lovely cacoon and all my e mails were wanted ones. Oh well!!
I supose I will be busy deleting hundreds of spam e mails tomorrow0 -

I don't think Hotmail give you too many choices and they mainly heavily filter out anything that looks like Spam by default. If they are anything like Orange (formerly Wanadoo and before that Freeserve) that is.0 -

I would suggest anyone who is concerned contact the FSCS and demand that they communicate with them by post and not email going forwards. They have no right to rely on email alone on a matter of this importance and Icesave also used the post during my time with them on more than one occasion for various security related issues.0 -

I'm on Hotmail too and receive all kinds of rubbish in my Junk Folder which I've been looking at some 10 times a day since tuesday. I've also added the address to my safe list and nothing from them in my Inbox.
How long does it take to send an email!? Getting increasingly worried about non-arrival of email and the prospect of spending hours on the phone tomorrow doesn't fill me with joy either. I just have a dreadful suspicion that this does not bode well for me and that I'll be at the end of a very long queue for transfering my dosh.0 -

Hello
Have picked up the email message today from the FSCS. Just to say to you all - be careful - if you have a spam filter as ferocious as ours - ours went directly into the junk mail with a spam header and I would have missed had I not gone onto the FSCS site and known they were around! I have fished it out but need to be careful looking out for the note in the coming weeks telling me it is my turn to retrieve funds! Make sure you adjust your safe sender settings with the right address which appears to be enquiries@fscs.org.uk. We use outlook so, having received the first email and spotted it in the spam file - right click on the message - go down to the junk mail option and then click on add to safe sender list. THis might help some folks?0
