To anyone using 'Hotmail' there is a setting where all in-coming e-mails it thinks are 'junk' get deleted automatically before they even reach the 'junk' folder. This setting can be changed by you so that they are placed in the 'junk' folder first where they will then be kept for 10 days until you delete them.
Go to 'Options' and then junk options to change the setting.....AND then add the enquiries AT FSCS.org.uk address to the 'safe' contacts list of your e-mail contacts.
If your e-mail was marked as junk and was deleted by hotmail before it made it into the junk folder, and has already been sent, then you can wait for ever and you will not receive it!!
I am starting to think my first e-mail has been lost in this way.......:eek:0 -

Postini Quarantine available to Plusnet customers keeps the stuff in the Quarantine folder for much longer. At least 30 days probably more. I think there may be a total capacity limit but I have yet to exceed it and I have had over 700 messages in there when I have come to review it after a month or so.0 -
I'm still waiting too. Fingers crossed I get an email tomorrow!0

EEEK!!! Thanks for that, just checked my Hotmail account and found that mine was on the standard setting which only sends "most" junk mail to the junk folder. Doesn't say what constitutes "most" though and I still haven't received my email....getting the phone ready for a call tomorrow! What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
this is what it looks like.....There is a clickable option next to the 'real options' on the site where you choose your preferred setting...(Reproduced here for anyone who's not quite as familiar with hotmail and it's settings)
Filters and reporting
Choose a junk e-mail filter
Select the filter level you want to apply to incoming messages.
Low - Obvious junk e-mail is sent to the junk e-mail folder.
Standard - Most junk e-mail is sent to the junk e-mail folder.
Exclusive - Everything is sent to the junk e-mail folder except messages from your contacts and safe senders, Windows Live Hotmail service announcements, and alerts that you signed up for.
Note: You should occasionally check your junk e-mail folder to make sure that good messages don't get put there by mistake.
Delete junk e-mail
Choose when junk e-mail is deleted.
Later - Junk e-mail is automatically moved into the junk e-mail folder, where it is deleted after ten days.
Immediately - Junk e-mail is deleted immediately.0 -
I am still waiting for my first email too, nice to know I am not the only one. Not much point in phoning them tomorrow, the lines will probably be jammed! I hope getting the money back is less frustrating and time consuming......0

I use hotmail and it came straight into my inbox. With regards to the e-mail being in capitals on the icesave website, I only got my e-mail after I changed it to all lower case, don't know if this makes a difference.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
