    Hi Liffy99,
    We also have pipex as our isp and had no e-mail due to pipex isp filering the e-mail as spam. We changed our e-mail to Hotmail then this alowed us to get our first e-mail in by using [EMAIL="Icesave@fscs.org.uk"]Icesave@fscs.org.uk[/EMAIL] link.
    Still waiting for the second e-mail though. :confused:

    I have not had my 2nd mail but am not all that worried. Even though they are surposed to be sent out at random there must be some criteria as to who will get it first. In my case it appears that it is not done on Surnames starting A-z, less then 35k in deposits, having 2 accounts or first customers to open an account. Maybe it is being done on postcodes a-z descending. Any thoughts anyone ?
  • have not really had my first e-mail yet either. I am on hotmail and did e-mail fcsc and got the automatic response message which I then replied the the requested blank - but no ackowledgment so don't know if that action suffices - just waiting 'till 4 Dec to see if I am last to get 2nd e-mail!

  • You can always check your account daily, neither of the two emails contain anything you need in order to get your money back, so eventually you should get some joy. Not an ideal solution, but it should work. Other option is to switch to google or hotmail, and then send a blank one to FSCS, then you should get the 1st email, the text of it is somewhere on here.

    I had a call back this morning from the Customer Relations Manager at the FSCS. Unfortunately I was in a meeting and he said I should leave a message for him to call me when I'm free. I have just done that and so am awaiting his call.

    Are you like liffy and on Pipex or do you use another ISP? Please let me know and I can check out what the situation is for you. Does anyone else have a question I can put to him? (As he has had the courtesy to phone me back I would rather keep this to questions where advice is needed rather than complaints on broad issues.)

    You could put a suggestion to him that they give a progress report on a daily basis on their website.. Its very frustrating waiting for ones money !

  • Just to update you. Ihave not had a call back today from the FSCS Customer Relations Manager. I was promised a call from him on Tuesday (see my posting #423) and it took him till today to make the call (see posting #468).

    I hope he might be a bit quicker this time but I'm not too optimist. It'll be next week now so if you think of any additional points do let me know over the weekend. Have a good one.:hello:

    has anyone actually been connected to a real perosn on the helpline? i hove no emails from them. tried the blank email sending tip,m but still nothing so rang the number but after telling me to go to thier website it justs cut me off. anyone know what i can do nex. I am with Toucan (which isTiscali think) so am i th eonly one experiencing a problem. a really starting to panic now....
    I am still waiting for the elusive first email from FSCS re Icesave and have tried talking to Toucan about their spam filters. All the Indian gentlemen that I have spoken to have said, apart from thanking me profusely for phoning them (at my expense), was to check my spam folder. I am now in email contact with their support, but no joy so far. Has anyone else with Toucan received the first email, or any sensible assistance from Toucan?
