In winter, I generally keep them in the shed on in an old peg bag on the washing lineTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

Jamie Oliver had a tip on his programme the other night - you get a box, line with sand, put the veg on top (root veg) and cover with sand and keep somewhere cool - apparantly the veg last for ages this way.Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0

We keep root veg either out in the garage (fridge substitute in winter!!!) or in the bottom of the fridge. Def. need to remove from any packaging asap. However, any that do get to the wrinkly stage get used up in soups.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
A vote for the Lakeland bags from me. They do definitely prolong the life of the veg!0

I just tear a hole into the plastic bag to let the moisture out and put in my salad drawer at the bottom of my fridge. My veg easily lasts a week before going wrinkly, sometimes longer.0

Apart from potatoes I keep all my root vegs in one of the two salad drawers in my fridge, with kitchen tissue lining the base and they do seem to keep very well. Lemons, apples and pears I keep in a see-through polythene bag in the body of the fridge. I try to keep as little fruit as possible in the fruit bowl because the central heating dries it out far too quickly.0

Hi, we have 3 large bags of carrots in the fridge due to me and hubby both getting shopping! I am making lentil soup tomorrow which will use some up but am looking for more recipes. Not carrot cake though as we had it last week, anything main meal would be great thanks:j0

Carrot & Coriander soup? (2 x chopped onions, 2 x chopped potatoes - fry for 10mins, lots of carrots, add to pan & cover with stock, add corriander at last minute then blitz)
Add grated carrot to mince when making shepard pie/bolognese/cottage loaf etc
Add grated carrot to grated cheese for sandwiches.
HM Coleslaw?
Roasted instead of/as well as potatoes
