  • I thought I would update this little diary of mine

I have payed off more of my Argos 0% this then leaves £41 untill payday, as all my bills are covered already. With that I have planned to see at least 2 movies. Now thats £13 I think but as I will take my own water its a cheap day out for me. So that then leaves just over £20. I have however placed £25 on my credit card (underwear and clothes ) however this will be cleared payday I hope. Still in my 0% period nevertheless.

Other than that I am just plodding. Another xmas present ordered. I now only have to finishing stitching Mums and get it framed. And then save the £120 needed  Although in fairness £50 I could stretch out untill Januarys payday. I do have lil bro's birthday in December too but I may give him his xmas gift for then and find something else for xmas but I will decide that later.

    Keep plodding all
  • Ok so I thought I should write an update instead of venting elsewhere. Yesterday and part of today I have come to the realisation that I will not have any 'disposable' income untill nearly March. Of course this is kinda my own fault as I wanted to do CD but I didnt think it would be this bad because I was getting overtime at work the time I started it. So here's my up and coming budgets and you can see it will be very tight.

I generally get £500 a month gross, but last month I only receieved £460

    October ~ Total = £342.90 ~ Left = £157.10
    November ~ Total = £382.90 ~ Left = £117.10
    December ~ Total = £485.90 ~ Left = £14.10

However the following has to be payed. My credit card has £25 sat on it. October I have my holiday, I have nothing saved as spends yet plus I need at least £20 for extra food as I am stepping up a plan on CD. Then there is the dreaded christmas and my lil brothers birthday in December. At the moment I am at a loss because it just isnt going to happen. I need 2 christmas gifts that will be under £10 each, I need £70 to give to my sister/bil, I need £50 to give to my Mum and then £20 to give to my lil bro on his birthday. That alone is £160  Plus there is birthday cards/christmas cards to buy.

Maybe it was a bad idea to pay the latest £110 off argos... I still have quite a bit sat on that card too :o However its 0% till March so I am planning to use all of Feb and some of March's money to pay this off. It should be about £200 each time as fingers crossed I will be off CD then :T

So yeah thats me laying it all out. Things arnt going well and although I ebayed all that stuff last month its not really helped in the long run. I guess its a case of grinning and bearing it though.

    Just keep plodding :j

Pap hun I think you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself.
Maybe you need to cut your budgets just a wee bit for Christmas this year?
To me I think £70 is one hewll of a lot of money to give your sis/bil.
Im cutting way way down as i cant afford it.
Might there be a wee bit of OT at work in the run up to Christmas?
Anyway take care & keep plodding hun xx

  • I agree with Beanie, I think that is a lot of money to spend on your relatives... I'm also cutting mine budget right down for Christmas this month, with the exception of MiL because her's is already paid for, no one is getting more than £20 spent on them.

You're doing great with your CD, so don't be too down on yourself. We often say you're too strict, so give yourself a bit of a breather.

Keep plodding babes, we're all plodding with you x

  • Beanie ~ Thanks for your concern. Maybe I will sound out with sister in a few weeks how she is planing christmas. Last year I know she found I hard so maybe she will agree at a price we will spend on eachother. My little bro has recieved about £60 plus a £10 gift I will give him on the day. The reason behind this is he wants a new xbox and I was giving him a game voucher (I traded in loads of games a few months ago) anyways. So I said I would give it him early. So the pre order was £20 (from the card) and I think there is £35 or so left on there.

I have let Mum know that she may have to wait untill Januarys pay for her money. I wont change the amount I will give to Mum, so thats not even up for consideration. However we have spoken about christmas and I gave her my list and she was shoked because it contained everyday things. Like I said to her though, there would be no way I could afford anything like that untill next year and also I would rather she spent her money on presents/gifts I would use than stuff ending up in the charity shop 3 months down the line.

Sadly no o/t will be avalible. To be honest with you I would be surprised if we are open this time next year. At the moment I am glad of the 20 hours I have, although I would love more hours. I have thought about getting a second job (cleaning and the such) but most need transport which is something I dont have just now, ho hum.

    Sarah
, if I could only spend £20 on everyone I would but it won't work that way. The problem I have though is that some of my family arnt gratefull at all for anything. Yet I could never not give to them, so I am stuck. I am sure I can sort something though....

With regards to me being too strict its not the case at all. I would love to have £10 a week to play with. Just now I need more new trousers and some sleepwear but the bottom line is I cant even afford that. Seriously I am at that stage now that even thinking of what I need (not want) and not being able to purchase it is depressing me. The outgoings I have listed above I can't cut down or reduce at all. Ok thats a lie, I can stop CD which will free up a huge amount but I want to see it through to the end. Well 100lbs at least. Take this month for example, this is my 'budget'

£120.00 ~ Rent (mum has reduced this from £160 while I am on CD)
£16.00 ~ House ins (this has gone up since last year but I am locked in a contract now)
£12.50 ~ Line rental (monthly from bt for line rental no calls, my internet is £63 every three months and I dont budget for this normally, next payment for internet is December)
£44.00 ~ Bus ticket (working 5 days a week for 4 hours a day means I cant grab lifts etc like I used to. I did start walking to and from work but it was a waste of time and also was physically tiring because of my diet)
£10.00 ~ t v (virgin tv, this is monthly and through my lil brother, works out as approx 30p a day)
£20.40 ~ SU club (two more months left of this, I purchase the min and then it all ends on on ebay anyways)
£120.00 ~ meal plans (this is only for 3 weeks as I will be doubling up in this 'month' but take December for example when I have to purchase 5 weeks totalling £200

I will be fine come new year its just getting there. In october I have £157 free. I have to spend about £20/£30 on food while away on holiday but I am hoping I will then spend less than £50 while there. I know there is one place me and Mum are desperate to visit but maybe that can be the only 'attraction' we visit. That will free up £50 for christmas... We shall see

Of course I will keep plodding, never give up untill you cant see the light at the end of the tunnel. At least I know in the next few months I will be back on my feet. Its just getting there....

    Keep plodding all :T
