Thanks Gem :A
Raph, Thanks for your concern and I do know the pitfalls and the medical disagreements towards this diet. However I personally have read/heard/looked at this in depth enough to know that this is safe enough for me to try. I would have loved to have lost weight excercising and being the modal case, eating less than you burn. However due to my depression/pcos that was never going to happen.
I need to get a life, I need to be accepted as a person, you arnt accepted anywhere when you are pushing 18st. There are men that weigh less than me, that does nothing to my confidence at all. I need to get down to a level playing field where I am just maintaining my weight instead of fighting to lose it. I hope I can show you it is a diet that if you take slowly and follow through you can have great results and keep it off. I know it will take time, I know I need to look at excercise and then food at a later date but I need astarting point to learn about food again.
Rog, Thanks. Believe me this diet is medically sound. Your body recieves all the nutrients and minerals you need just in a shake rather than normal solid food. The aim is to be in a very mild form of ketosis, its not starving yourself it's making your body take energy from its fat stores instead of the food you put into your body. If you get into deep ketosis you are in trouble because thats when your body will start attcking lean mussle/organs for energy. This will not and has not happened to anyone who has followed this plan through a counceller.
I could easilly do it 'my' way and force my body into ketosis and then I will do serious damage to myself. This way you are monitored, at the first sign of problems you are pulled off sole source and are put on a higher program. I am intelligent enough (or at least I hope so) to know what I am doing. It does sound drastic and scary but I need to do this I am morbidly obese just now and the doctors havent given me a healthy future. I for one dont want my Mum burying me because of a medical condition I could have done something about. So hear goes.
Sorry about the essays everyone but I will repeat this will be my last post on the subject. If you want to see how I am getting on there is a Cd thread over in the health forum. I know its a lot to take in beacuse I know although we are all strangers some of you 'care' about me but for once I am following my heart and head and I will complete this :T0 -

PaP - I am pleased to see that you are doing this for the right medical reasons and I really do wish you every success - I was 'morbidly obese' myself - now I am still a couple of stone over my 'ideal' weight, but I do feel a lot better - less tired - and genuinely happier with life.
Can I just ask one question, please? - You say that your doctor has not 'given you a healthy future' - did he/she offer you any help on the NHS?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Congrats rog, sadly I have never been a normal weight so I dont know how it will feel but just to get my hips better will be a great advantage :j
No, no one has offered me anything not even when I was younger  I was told that I had to lose weight when I was in school but no one helped no one has even reffered me to a nurse. Then when I was diagnosed with pcos they said ~ ahhh losing weight will be harder now but you must. Again no support or anything. I think it was last september when I went about my depression he gave me around 3 years to live in my current state (then still gaining), again no help. Yet someone who wants children and is 15st before she can have ivf she has to lose weight so has been given free slimming world vouchers ~ me nada  This is the reson why today was a huge step and one I dont want to repeat, even while I was there she offered me no alternative but wanted me to do LL for the counsellingObviously I cant afford that so CD it is.

Thanks, PaP - I didn't mean to pry. I do feel that you have been unfairly treated - throughout life, but especially over your 'health' problems (both with the pcos and your weight problem).
You are to be commended for taking steps to tackle your problems by yourself.
Your GP, on the other hand, should hang his/her head in shame for not having offered you the help to which you are surely entitled.
I promise not to ring the subject up again.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Hey Rog you arnt pryingI guess I dont scream and shout enough but I dont feel that gets you anywhere. I am hoping once I get my weight under control I can control some of the pcos myself :jAs i said before Rog I rarely make my feelings known in real life regarding anything. How I manage to do it on the internet is beyond me, but maybe thats why I hadnt been offered anything
Anyways I am doing it my way now, if I get ill it will be my fault but at least I can say I tryed it and it didnt work.
Thanks I should have stuck to my guns and not posted till I was under way but I thought I cant post about it on other threads and then keep some of my very close friends out of the loop. Thanks for respecting my decision, I want this to be kept as my money diary rather than my life diary. As I say I am on the 'other' thread and you can also pm me if you want updates.
Keep being Rog, Rog :kisses3:0 -

Hi all :j So thought I would update my corner of mse today. Not much happening money wise. Bills have all been paid and now I am ready for next month, I have 9p in my account :rotfl: So soa for May
£160.00 ~ Rent
£13.00 ~ House ins
£12.50 ~ Line rental
£22.00 ~ Bus ticket
£200.00 ~ Meal packs (5 week month)
£5.00 ~ Locked saver
£15.00 ~ Argos
£19.65 ~ SU club
£20.00 ~ ‘me’ money
Total = £467.15
This leaves me £32.85 for the month without any added hours/expenditure, thats if I earned £500 this month. This 'extra' will all be payed off Argos :j My 'me' money this month I am planning to use to go to the cinema (orange wednesday if Mum wants to tag along) £7 and prob spend the remainder on water :rotfl:. I am going to go on another craft diet untill September :T There will be one quartly magazine that I will buy but thats itBit annoyed that there is 5 sundays in this 'month' before next payday  However thats life
Still have £197.81 due to argos. So planning £15 in May, £45 in June and £100 in July. That will leave £37.81 after the 0% deal. So I am planning to lend that from Mum or give up my 'me' money in June and July to cover thatreally dont know how I would be able to afford the holiday in October but I am sure I will think of something :rotfl:
Take care all :A0 -
