  • Hi all home now and been to the fair. Didnt want to come home from cornwall but needs must  I spent all of my holiday money while down there plus an extra £5 on the way home. At the fair today I spent just under £30, most of what I purchased would have had high postage if I was to order them seperatly like double sided tape etc so I think I did really well, plus I now have 12 rolls of tape so I doubt I will need any for months :rotfl:

So other than that I am fine. Money wise I have £139.67 in my current account, £40 bills to go out, then £80 too, that will leave me £19.67 so I have transferred what was in last year isa out and I will use that for extras and I also need to pay something to Argos this month.

So thats me. I have sorted May, June and July's budgets so unless anything drastic happens I will be fine. Just ahve to think about next year's holiday now. Planning Wales or the Lake district for a change :D

    Take care all :A

Dont know if finacially I can afford it but it will be nice, or even just a weekend ~ we shall see.

Money wise I am doing well I will have £20 left untill payday. However I am unsure about bus fares and some postage. However I will sort all that out tonight :D

Also finally I want to say another thankyou to toto ~ The sewing machine is amazing :T Thanks :A

Yep, yep. I have heard it may have to move though. Thats fine but I am only free 29th Aug, 12th Sep, 26th Sep, 10th Oct. So every other weekend really :D
  • :j Just sorted some dates with mum and we have a posiible 4 day holiday in October. Its £114 so a little more expensive than this time but we dont mind as we cant do 7 days this time, plus its in a far better caravan (not that there was anything wrong this time). So thats £57 each, I havent booked it yet so it may go up/down before then... So now a new challenge, pay for this holiday using no wages :j So that means ebay/cashback/overtime/selling stuff. Ideally I will need approx £100 spending money too so lets aim for £180 :D I cant really start this untill payday although I have loads of items turbo listed ready to upload. So here we go, holiday essentially 'free' :D
  • Ok I thought I should keep my diray in the loop. So sorry about this but I was supposed to keep quite untill I was a week in but to be honest I needed some support as Mum hasnt got much opinion on this subject.

So the extra out-going each month will be the cambridge diet. I havent come to this decision lightly, infact it started well over a year ago when work colleagues attempted the diet. It wasnt untill I got seriously down when callorie counting that I thought about it again. At that point I realised that many on mse and on the daily chat also follow this diet. So around 30+ pm's later and me reading what feels like the bible on the subject I decided it is something I should try.

Before I could start though I had my holiday etc so it required holding off. Then my worst fears were realised and I had to see my doctor first. Well I have completed that today and although she wasnt jumping up and down with joy she allowed me to attempt it. So I first see my councillor on Sunday with the plan to start on Monday morning.

The reason I have gone for a drastic solution  its like a circle that I cant break. I think if I take the choice of food out of my diet then I will lose weight. Once I have then lost weight I will learn about food and think about what I am eating day by day. It will be a long haul though and going from the base plan to maintance may take me 2/3 years so its not a fad its a plan that I will complete start to finish.

Obviously this is costly  Mainly because all my food (except my bottled water and takeaways) is rolled into my £180 house keeping money. So I have spoken to my mum and I have reduced this by £40. However the meals alone cost £40 a week  A huge amount of money especially in this climate and me working part-time. However if you see my post above it will be tight but I can do it ~ just.

So thats me. I wont be posting in my diary again about this diet but obviously I want to make you aware of this high outgoing that will be appearing in my soa for a while to come.

    Take care all :A

I think you've made the right decision for you PAP, you've done your homework on it and you're prepared to make long term changes to your diet and attitude to food and that's the biggest hurdle IMHO. Hundreds of people manage to lose weight, less keep it off and that's the real challenge, which I think you can do easily :)

Hi pap, the Cambridge diet is not one that I would choose, due to all the bad press etc, but it is your choice and I wish you luck with it.
I think the problem with the Cambridge is that once the weight is lost you have to train yourself to eat properly again, if you go back to your old eating habits you'll just gain it all back.
I'm sure you know what you're doing thou, sounds like you've researched it thoroughly! We'll done on consulting your doc and counselor on it too :) looks like you're going about it the right way :)

    Good luck pap :D

I don't, personally, know enough about 'propriety diets' to offer any specific advice.
All I do know is that I have manged to lose just over three stone, over one year, simply by eating sensibly, cutting down on the beer, and, other than the occasional bar of Smart Price or Tesco Value chocolate, cutting out the 'snacking'.
I hasten to add that the 'chocolate' is now plain rather than milk. :o
I feel a lot better for my weight loss and, other than the fact that all of my clothes are now too big, people tell me I look better for it.
So all I can do, PaP, is to wish you luck.
