no 182 reporting! I've pm'd Zav with my update.

we've had an expensive month - replaced the car, and then the washing machine. We've had to dip into our savings to pay for these, so we're concentrating on building the savings back up rather than overpaying so much. Still, we've kept our mortgage payment the same despite the interest rate drop, so we are overpaying - it just doesn't feel like it!

I've also got a bit lazy with my grocery shopping so I think if I focus on that this month I will at least feel I'm achieving something. thanks to everyone on this thread and board for helping to keep me focused!

Have enough money in the bank account to make another OP of perhaps £2k - but am not doing it yet, as we don't have one of those mortgages where we can take it back out, and other half and his colleagues are to hear more about their "restructuring" this week, apparently...and those who went from a different location on Friday got no notice and no redundancy pay :(

(Any spare holding-onto-job vibes would be welcome!)

Hi, no 133 checking in. Made the March overpayment yesterday by cheque at a branch of my Bsoc and it is already showing as having been credited to my account even though it has not cleared my current account yet! I like it! Am on target for OPs and when the regular payment goes out next week we will be sub £30k - first time it's been that low since the early 1980s! will up date sig and pm you Zav. Well done everyone - what a difference even a little extra effort makes!

Number 297 reporting for duty sir!

Target for year was £10,000 although I am hoping to smash this:D :T

    January 2009 £1700, Feb £2100, March £2800

Money not going directly off the mortgage but into savings as these are currently earning more than the 1.09% that the interest on the mortgage is costing:j . Will keep an eye on this and pay off directly if things change. (Although it is tempting to pay off the lump sums-even though I know financially it would not make sense)
