    Excellent! Overpay your mortgage day.

Let's go for May the 9th (Mr. Lewis' birthday) which this year falls on a Saturday. Plenty of time to plan the details. Points awarded for style and effort (not monetary value).

I'm so glad you've all been keeping this thread popping up on my list and reminding me I have to think about this :)

I'm almost afraid to make a commitment here since I am worrying a little about money at the minute but I decided this was what I wanted to prioritise in the way of savings at the minute given the rubbish interest rates for savings.

Our mortgage is now almost £210,000, down from £232,600 this time last year. I'm pretty happy about this. The aim for next year is to bring it down under £200,000.

    Hi BG23
I have put you a target for reduce mortgage to below £200k - hope thats ok - let me know if you want to change it at all....

Afternoon all and happy new year

New Year Resolution (hahahaha - like i keep those for more than 5 minutes!!) is to be more focussed on OP's again this year although it won't be easy until OH can work. However, I will try with small amounts each month to start with, and build up to bigger amounts when things get easier. This is working on the theory that something is better than nothing. The main thing initially will be to OP each month by something. Stayed in bed most of today and saved on heating bill:D

Good luck to everyone else in their quest too!

    Po xx

    Hi PO

Glad your still with us! Dont forget small amounts will still keep you focused and reduce your mortgage ......

  • Happy New Year everyone,

I have just transferred £120 to my mortgage for this months OP.

I won't be doing anymore this month as we have been on half pay at work last month and this, hopefully we will be back to normal in February.

On the plus side my SVR went down again so I am paying £60 per month less than in November, hoping it lasts while work gets back on it's feet!

    Zav - have PM'd you.

Sorry Zav, the system timed out or something in the middle of my post and I must have lost my actual target of £250 per month, a total of £3000 over the year. Together with my regular mortgage payments this should bring me under £200,000 if I've calculated right  Thanks again for all you're doing here!!
