Hi, first post but been lurking for a while :)

May I be added to this MFW 2009 list as believe it will be a great incentive :)

Purchased a shared ownership flat about three and a half years ago, got a mortgage for only 40%, I was living in SE Asia so when returned to the UK had very little to offer as a deposit.

Currently got one and a half years left in a fixed mortgage (4.84% with Abbey) and pay £382.58 a month. Not sure if I can overpay every month as Abbey will only accept a minimum of £500.

Should be receiving my annual mortgage report this month, believe I've around £60000 (ish) left to pay.

    £3,600/£0.00/£0.00

    Thanks...

HI Ameldridge - welcome to MFW 2009 - I have added you to the list so you have a nice shiny number of your own. Good Luck to you for 2009

Hi, I'd like to join you please, I think this sounds a great motivation!

Mortgage of £175,000 taken out in January 2007. No overpayments in 2007, but £3000 saved last year, ready to pay off the mortgage.

My target for 2009 will be to overpay by a total of £4000 - it'll be a challenge!

Thank you, and good luck everyone!

PM sent but just for public/my record, target now £2400 overpayment for 2009 which means getting the offset group down to near enough £124k. May do a lot better if the car doesn't need replacing!

Hi, I'm no. 84 on the MFW2009 list (Zebedy)

I did well in 2008 beating my overpayment target and managed to pay off 8% of my mortgage.

I just wanted to put my goal for 2009 overpayment "out there" (I'll PM Zavarony the details)

In 2009 I want to overpay by £7000 !!!!!! (which is very nearly the maximum i am allowed to do without charges)

    Good Luck everyone

MFW 97 logging in - re round up OP went on 2 Jan of £1.97. Not sure if there will be anything else this month yet as saving for some household bits, but will update if anything esle comes in and send Zav a PM towards the end of the month with the actual final total.
  • Hi,

I would like to join the MFW 2009 list if possible. In 2008 I overpaid £3600 in the final 7 months of the year having switched to a BOE+0.38% tracker mortgage with HSBC allowing unlimited overpayments (one of the few good financial decisions I've made!).

    In 2009 I would like to overpay £6000 (£500/month).

Thanks and good luck to everyone taking part.
