Woke up.
Walked 5 miles to my local Northern Rock.
Handed 10 Pounds over.
Walked home.

That's about it realy. Managed not to spend any money today and got some free exercise in the Winter sun. Stuff paying for a gym.

Happy New year to everyone.
Made 1st overpayment today of £102. Did not change DD when rate went down last month. OP may be more if rate went down on 1/1. Not had letter yet. I will update in a few days.

Please can you add me to the list? I would like to overpay £1,000 on my mortgage this year. I managed £200 last year but I didn't start until October.

I been really inspired by all the diaires on this forum and I would like to start to make an effort to clearing my mortgage early (albeit a small one!).

MFW 181, overpayment this month £446.89 paid yesterday, on target for OP of more than £3000 this year if everything goes ok. Thanks to Zavarony for keeping the OP list. It really helps my motivation that I know the target is in writing at the begining of the year.

Hi, first post but been lurking for a while

May I be added to this MFW 2009 list as believe it will be a great incentive

Purchased a shared ownership flat about three and a half years ago, got a mortgage for only 40%, I was living in SE Asia so when returned to the UK had very little to offer as a deposit.

Currently got one and a half years left in a fixed mortgage (4.84% with Abbey) and pay £382.58 a month. Not sure if I can overpay every month as Abbey will only accept a minimum of £500.

Should be receiving my annual mortgage report this month, believe I've around £60000 (ish) left to pay.

Hi, I'd like to join you please, I think this sounds a great motivation!

Mortgage of £175,000 taken out in January 2007. No overpayments in 2007, but £3000 saved last year, ready to pay off the mortgage.

My target for 2009 will be to overpay by a total of £4000 - it'll be a challenge!
