    Hi

    Zav, have pm'd you also

I am definitely wanting to sign up again for teh MFW challenge 2009 - in 2008 having teh thread (although admittedly I did not post towards the end of the year I still kept reading it) really acted as great inspiration for me and we beat our initial target and I managed to pay off over £11k - hooray

Target for this year will be £5k which is a lot less than what I have paid off this year but will actually be a high target for us as I am now on maternity leave - still am sure that with the support of the thread I will keep throwing every spare penny at the mortgage

Heres to a great 2009 for all of us

  • I've just got paid early for Christmas, so am thrilled to report that as of today, my mortgage is down to £50,000.

We remortgaged in August, and since then have paid off a grand total of £29,176 - £15,000 from an inheritance and £14,176 (plus the interest payments) all by ourselves !

Roll on 2009 - I hope this time next year I can be reporting only 20k outstanding and then come 2010 we'll be free !

Hi, I have been a lurker on these boards for a while now, but thought it was about time I started posting.

Can I please join the MF Wannabee thread.

Current situation. 18 months ago we were MF then decided to move in March. Found perfect house & in fortunate position that we could move without selling first so took out Mortgage for £225,000 LTV 95%. Sold our old house in 3 weeks for £160,000 which would have left us with approx mortgage of £70,000 after expenses etc. Then it fell through at last minute so we now have 2 houses. Old 1 is being rented thankfully to nice couple who are looking for long term let.

Original target was MF in 6-7 years. We are now hoping to make this about 5.

Mortgage outstanding 220,000 having overpaid £1300 in last 2 months. Should be able to pay lump sum of £10,000 in March due to payout of an old endowment.

Intention for 2009 to overpay £350 a month, plus the lump sum. Hopefully by doing this by end of year 5 value of old house should then pay off rest of mortgage.

    Sorry for long winded post.

Hi rumncoke -I have added you to the first post - put you down for a hefty £14200 - hope thats ok (350 x 12 + 10k lumpsum)
    GOOD LUCK

    Hi All,
I have been inundated with newbies - the family is growing fast we are now up to 233 MFW's with only a few more days to go until the challenge begins.

I have added all the requests I have had so far (PM's and posts on the thread) If I have missed or misquoted you please let me know so I can change/add you. As there are so many people now it would be a massive help if you could let me know your number when you PM me each month - or you could add it to your sig so I can find you more easily

I havent PM'd everyone back this week - sorry but been real busy with xmas, but will try in the future

So I can't wait for 2009 to start - while the rates are low I intend to make the most of OP'ing as much as possible, so Good Luck to everyone - see you in 2009 (not long now :j )

Have a fab xmas and new year
