Go to User CP (Control Panel) at the top of the page and select Edit Signature from "Settings and Options". A text box (like the message box) will open and just type in what you want to see in your signature field. It will always appear at the bottom of your message.
You can preview it and/or update it any time you want.
Good luck!

Hello I've sent a PM too but can i be added to the list. I'm going to call my mortgage company tomorrow and see where I stand. I think though at the moment i have 28 years left on a mortgage of approx £150k.
In 2009 I would like to aim for making overpayments of £4000. So £340 ish extra a month. I have three years till I have to remortage and i'd like to get the figure down so I have a lot more equity and obviously so eventually i become mortgage free.
Fingers crossed.Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .
Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.0 -

In addition to the wallpaper motivator I use, here's another thing which I use to motivate and keep track.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daruma_doll
In Time Managemen circles, some people use a Daruma Doll as a physical representation of a set goal. The daruma doll (or a printed version) has been used by various time management systems as a symbol for an uncompleted major task/goal. When you start a task you color in one pupil, and then put the doll/image where it can be seen so it continually reminds you about that task. When the task is completed the second eye can be filled in to denote completion.
Rather than go out and buy a Daruma Doll, which costs money, I did some tiling for the mother in law. She rewarded me with a nice bottle of 1995 St. Emillion Red French wine. My fave. Don't know how much it cost but I'm guessing £20. I've taken a pen to the bottle label and scribbled the numbers 1 through 24 (being the 24K I need to clear my mortgage). In an advent calender stylee, each time I clear 1K, I cross out the corresponding number.
The plan is, in addition to paying off the mortgage, to have a celebratory dinner with my close family where I'll dig out the bottle and cross the last number off, before opening it. In fact, I've just this second pencilled in that date in my 2009 diary.
The 'thing' with the Daruma doll is that it's a visual symbol which whilst unfullfilled, sits there, looking at you.
Hope this helps somone.

Hi Zavarony,
I'd really like to join this challenge too (not sure if I've been automatically added as a 2008mfw?).
My target (slightly vague I know) is to OP by the maximum I am allowed without incurring penalty (10% but not sure if this is from the original amount borrowed or the remaining balance) PLUS fill my ISA when the new year begins in April
Will let you have more specific details once I've worked it out
May thanks

Hi Guys!
I read with envy all those that have the will power and the dosh to pay of their mortgages early.
Now that interest rates are very low I am determined to reduce my mortgage term. I owe £56000 with 9 years left to go. I hope to get this down to 5 years by overpaying £100 a month and I am also hoping to down size as I have had my house on the market since July 2007, so I might be able to pay off in less than 5 years.

Good timing, I've just got my end of year mortgage statement a few days ago.
30 Nov 08 Balance outstanding £106,244.00
5 year fixed from July 06 @ 4.89%
current repayment (with capital) £644
Remaining term 22 years 8 months
Early redemption charge £3,300
Aiming to overpay around £500 a month in 2009, it will be hard, I need to bring in a lodger, and either do overtime or get a second job. But I know it will be worth it, I feel its like a wall I need to knock down, or a mountain I need to climb, but if I want freedom then I have to keep on at it.0 -

Good luck in your quest.
It may be hard, but it will definitely be worth it.0
