Just wanted to say, I have been given a shiny number to play with on here.

It is only reading this thread that has made me realised just how much money I have been wasting over the years ( I really should have been mortgate free years ago !!!!)

Still better late than never, I now live on my own so have full control :j over any spending (or rather lack of it) and am really excited about overpaying my mortgage. I am planning on £1000.00 by the end of the year, but it will be more if possible.

From my last loan payment next March it will be another £200.00 per month over whatever else I am overpaying so I can't wait for that.

Good luck to everyone and thank you for the inspiration you have all given me.

No overpayments this month however.... I complained to the Ombudsman about my T&Cs being unfairly changed (without notification) and got to the point where Norther Rock offered me £65 compensation. Rather than take the cash, I asked the Ombudsman if he would ask NR to waive the mortgage exit fee of £250..... ie. no 'real' money changes hands. NR said yes.

So that's £250 less I'll need to find come MF day.

I've just paid my August op of £203.08. This makes my OP YTD figure £3152.73 on my yearly target of £3000. This is 105% of my goal for this year.

Hey guys number 39 checking in. Ok, so FINALLY we've got on to the bank to up our d/d to a nice round £450, which means we will be OPing a nice £121.19 every month! Sounds rubbish, but considering we are renovating our house at the same time I think its pretty good! Woo hoo!
Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

  • Its ages since I checked in, sorry.

My £100 overpayment continues to go out each month, so I'm up to £700 this year with the next £100 due to go out 15/08/2009.

Well done to everyone - I see some real determined people on this thread!:T
