    Ok, having managed to hit my £5000 target already, I'm feeling a little lost without a goal to aim for, so I've decided to up my target for the year to £8000.

    This will definitely be a bit of a stretch, but then I didn't expect to reach my first target so who knows what will happen!!

    Bah - been beat by happilass and Little Miss Saver who have already posted August totals. :D

    I have an automated overpayment kicking in on the first of the month, therefore I've overpaid today by 126.97. Totals are as follows:

    August = 126.97
    YTD = 1,715.76
    YTD % = 45.15%

    Well short of my "ideal" target for 2009 and I don't think we will be able to make up the shortfall now either, but we're still overpaying, so I'm not too downbeat.

    Always was an optimist!

    MFW #157 update

    July Stats:-
    Overpayment in blue, Year To Date Overpayment in red and Balance in green.

    Month / Overpay / YTD Overpay / Balance.
    July / 888.88 / 5,304.17 / 88,457.16

    I am getting very close to my year end target already (August payment will hit target), so I've decided to revise my target to £84,000.

    As long as we all keep going, then it will be a success, the targets are something to aim for and it's great If we reach them hon, but the really important thing is that we are doing something which will take us in the right direction.:D

    Evening,

    Number 254 reporting in for August. We have paid an additional £1,616 this month (the maximum allowed and that we can afford!) bringing the total for the year to £5,158. Should be able to hit our £9,000 target now or may even slightly over if work keeps coming in and discipline keeps up! We really want the mortgage below £70,000 before the end of the year and anything more would be a bonus as our deal runs out in October (how I will miss paying .043%!!!)

    Reading this and other threads here helps with this in a big way so thank you to all those inspiring, regular posters.
    So far: Council Tax downgrade success and £1,000 refund | Mortgage redemption refund £25.00 | Lightspeed £65.00 | Pigsback £30.00 | Quidco £130.00 | Topcashback £405.00 all courtesy MSE :beer:

    Reporting August OP £194.92 and year to date £3387.10 thats 96.7% to target. I can't believe how easy I have found this I thought at the beginning of the year that it was a bit of a stretch but it just shows you how much money you spend on rubbish and what it can do if you just redirect it.

    I might even join MFIT II though I think that is still out of reach but 1/5/15 seems a nice number to be mortgage free.

    Hi.

    A bit late for July, but i just wanted to report it anyway. We managed to overpay by £189.73, which took my year to date total to £1488.19, or 74.4% towards my £2000 target for the year.

    We have also cashed in DH's ISA that was earning a pittance, so my August overpayment is already at £17,000. Can't wait to see what else i can add to that this month.

    Nice to see that figure being chipped away at.
