Hi, 289 finally checking in with some progress! I've got off to a slow start on account of changing jobs, renting my flat, buying a new one and renovating it completely - which cost a little more than I expected but the results are worth it! My first overpayment isn't made yet but it's set up for the beginning of the month so it's ok to count it for motivation - right?! First payment of £1128 (may monthly max without penalty) on it's way - and £6864 to go. Eek better get moving.
Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j

    Hi All,

Zebedy (no. 84 i think) checking in with my progress. Made my June OP today (£660) bringing my year to date OPs to £2320.
I'm a bit behind schedule if i'm going to achieve my target for the year but it was always going to be a tough target so I'm happy with how i'm doing (but still must try harder.)

Everyone else seems to be doing really well too, It's so inspiring to read all the other posts

I am a happy bunny, with OH starting to jump onboard the OP train we've managed to put down an overpayment of £3142 this month, some saved as stooze payments over past year, a little from Halifax Reward accounts and Quidco and some from careful spending.
This takes our OP total so far to £9384.75, so will definitely reach £10000 by the years end.:beer::beer:
School Hols start next month:j:j:j:j and have a couple of trips planned, so will try to resist the urge :p to OP more than regular £160 as part of Direct Debit in July. Then any surplus cash left at end of August can be transferred over then.;)
Good luck everyone! We're doing brilliantly- on target for a group OP total of a million pounds if we keep up our pace until the end of October.:A

2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D

  • No.192 reporting, June's OP now cleared and after some calculations the money owed on our mortgage has shrunk £3217 since 1st January this year. (£217 ahead of target)

It is proving quite difficult to maintain our lifestyle AND overpay but we are managing, this thread is a true source of inspiration.

Another great month for me. £5500 into deposit fund if only I could find the blooming ideal house I could get on with it properly. Didn't expect to still be in rented over a year down the line

Means I've met my target so will up it. I guess as its half way through the year I should double what Ive done so far but I have car service/MOT/tax coming up plus want to book hols in September so maybe a bit under.

Will pm you Zav & thanks for keeping us all motivated :j
