I won't be making another overpayment this month - my mortgage interest rate is now lower than my student loan interest rate (I have an old, mortgage-style loan unfortunately!) so I'll be throwing any extra at that to get it down. I'd really love to pay it off a year early, i.e. December 2009 rather than December 2010. Hopefully writing it down here will make me more likely to do it :j
It worked, I have paid off my student loan! :j:j:j:j Thank you all for being on the thread and being my conscience, biggest thanks to Zavarony for all her hard work :A
As a result, I'm firmly back on the bandwagon! July's overpayment (have pm'd Zavarony):
154. Cake21 - £7311 / £1024 / £6266 (This is more than my original target)
Well done everyone, everyone is doing brilliantly :beer:0 -
Hi folks, #199 reporting almost on time for once
As MrsBlackCat still got paid as usual last month and for half of this month, the fact she no longer has a job hasn't caught up with our finances yet, and so we still had a good surplus this month. So a £500 OP made it onto the mortgage again for June.
However, things will be getting tight from now on, hopefully we'll still be able to OP something each month for the next few months but it won't be as much as we're used to.
Well done to everyone on your OPs, especially those that have managed to hit their targets for the year already! Keep it up :T2009 MFW #199 - OPs / Target: £3800 / £35000 -
Financial Bliss (#169) reporting in for July.
I’ve an automated overpayment set up earlier in the year to pay on the first of the month until December – overpay as early as possible!
I’ve overpaid by £126.97 for July. Probably won’t be making any further overpayments. Car due for service / MOT.
YTD overpayments: 1,588.79 (41.81%)
Ideal overpayments: 2,216.67 (58.33%)
Now considerably behind my ideal. Probably won’t make my target of £3,800, but this target was set to attempt to achieve a balance of £47,500 for the start of the mortgage free in three take two challenge.

No 218 - July overpayment £440 bringing year to date total to £5978. So close to £6K I was aiming for. Hoping local council will finally pay up for election work which will mean I can hit £6K target before end of month. Hopefully can overpay another £2.5K at least before end of year - particularly if interest rates remain low.0

July overpayment of £40.
Total so far £241.00 Target for year £250
Overpayment will be beaten - kept monthly payment same when they kept reducing interest rates. Will keep overpaying more once I have the holiday out of the way so should be a nice amount at the end of December. Will try and double the target!!!Mortgage free as at 1/9/13 :j
To start work on the credit cards now!!0
