    Hey there,

    274 reporting in

    £86 this month, £36 of which is due to fix coming to end so on SVR.

    Finding it difficult to stay motivated at the moment, can wait until I'm below 100% LTV. Reading the posts here help to keep me focussed on the long term goal!

    I do the same wildfrog regarding reading the posts to keep me motivated. I find if I don't read them too often I get tempted to fall back into my old ways - spending the money :rolleyes: I also enjoy reading some of the diaries and re-calculating when I'll be mortgage free. This also keeps me motivated. Keep up the hard work, it will be worth it, just keep your goal in sight.

    no 120 checking in. Got a cheeky extra £60 o/p in yesterday. I'm hoping to pay some more mid July. Aiming to be under £100k come Feb 2010 when our tracker runs out. Fingers crossed.

    I've pm'd you Zavarony

    Well, another months payment means my mortgage balance is now only £8,600. Started off with a £40,000 interest only mortgage in 1991 and the lightbulb came on about 3 years ago. Switched to a 50/50 Repayment and I/O and saw the outstanding balance reduce on a monthly basis. I increased my payment by 3 times in Nov 2007. Now I have £5,000 I/O and only £3,600 repayment.

    Decision at the end of year whether to pay off £5k in 6 months or reduce to 1k I/O and pay off 4k. The only thing we have done without is maybe a new/newer car, but who really needs one when our existing cars run so well despite both being 10 years old.

    Listen folks, its never too early to start paying off what you can afford. Every little helps shorten the time until you are mortgage free.

    No 254 checking in after a bit of an absence! Been keeping my head down and working away and can now start to ramp up the overpayments to hit our 2009 target. July overpayment was £1,616 making total for the year £3,542. A long way to go to hit our target yet but feeling more confident now it can be done.

    Hi number 133 here - am enjoying catching up and reading how well everyone is doing! We had the annual statements from two of our endowment policies yesterday and instead of paying out 19500+profits they are only going to pay out 11500, so boy am I glad that I persuaded my DH to change to repayment. Like Sheslookinhot we started half and half and then changed to full repayment about 3 years ago. We have been making the maximun permitted over payments since then and it has made such a difference. I really get exicited when I see the figures dropping each month! Whatever you can managed it 's worth having a go- so keep up the good work everyone!

    Hi Zav,
    Just worked it out for 2009 so far:-
    Jan = OP of £809.70
    Feb = OP of £379.13 = Total OP = £1188.83
    Mar = OP of £1314.43 = " " " " = £2503.26
    April = OP of £1349.19 = " " " " = £3852.46
    May = OP of £1382.56 = " " " " = £5235.01
    June = OP of £1382.56 = " " " = £6617.57 so mortgage still owing now only £75,402.00
    so I'm in front of my target of 10,000.00 this year, if I can keep this up so wish me luck.
