Blimey. Am I neglecting my kids as they only go to brownies and Dance class?:o

    Dancing £3.50 x 2
    Brownies 70p x 2

    Total £8.40 per week.

They are only 7 and as they only get home from school at 3.30 I don't think they could cope with loads of activities. We do lots of free walks on the beach or in the woods for exercise instead. ;)

When they get into P4 they will take up a musical instrument at school but unless they show a particular aptitude I won't be getting them private lessons.

    Weekly
DD 13: Dancing £4 (she did tap, modern and ballet up until a year or so ago, now just streetdance so lots cheaper a week)
DS 11: Guitar Private Lesson £12 (lots of extra costs here too, last exam was £42 and music festivals are £6 per class, plus new strings, music books etc)
Football £7 (two training sessions and match subs).

They also do free school clubs, DD does trampolining and DS does rugby, ping pong and sometimes cricket.
Well I can't stand by the side
And watch this life pass me by

I've just read this thread again and honestly can't believe how much some of these children are doing?

Do they really need all this? Don't they get really tired?

My little girl likes to be kept busy. She doesn't go to nursery/school yet, so if we didn't get out, she'd just be sat at home watching too much CBeebies.

When she goes to school or nursery, it might be a different story.

It also gives me a bit of adult company, otherwise I think I'd be very lonely at home on my own with a toddler all the time.

I was really talking about school age children who I think get very tired in the afternoons. I'm all for toddler groups and getting adult company for yourself. icon7.gif

And I know you didn't mean it this way but I would say that there is alot more to being at home than watching kids' TV.;)

lol I know! I'd better rephrase that - I meant 'watching more CBeebies than she already does'. She also plays with toys, reads books, and does drawing!
