Apprently, due to 'unprecedented demand' for their services, there is a queue on their customer service line.

The customer service rep informed me that I shouldn't have used energyhelpline as they are inaccurate... a comment that rendered me almost speechless.

Anyway, despite having not yet completed the electricity part of my dual fuel switch, I am off to another supplier. I may not save much, if anything, but I refuse to do business with this company again.

I am on the online saver tarriff and the prices went up as soon as i switched. I see on online that they have now been increased AGAIN!!!! to 26.4075KWh. I am going to look at chnging. Anyone know how I work out the best deal for me myself without going through the price comparison sites? I have the meter reading from when i signed up to now which is about 2 months but nothing beyond as DH has shredded them. I have looked at an annual standing charge then a REALLY low rate and thinking that might be better for us but would like to number crunch before i make the move.

Problem is the main saving appears to be Npower, but for that you would have to stay with them for a full year to benefit from their discounts - about £100 I think. Also, Npower has a bad reputation - in a way it would be like jumping out of the frying pan. The other alternative is good old British Gas - and who feels like sitting on the phone for an eternity waiting to speak to the wrong person!

So basically we have to put up and shut up??!?! They have us over a barrel. That guy from E-on put me right off them when he answered that infamous interview question about price rises when he replied 'it means more profits for us'

Anyone else receive their 'notice of increase' letter this morning? My discounts are showing less than the August letter. It simply said DD Dual Fuel 8%. My August discount quoted 13.3% (DD 9%, Online 4.3%). Are they playing another crafty trick on us?

got my letter today, my dual fuel online discount is 14%, was 15%...
i have checked and e-on one of the cheapest in my area the cheapest is british gas  and i am not going there

    Got my letter today:

Primary rate 26.135 elec. Secondary rate 11.319
Primary rate 6.53 gas secondary rate 3.557

Dula fuel discount 8%. Extra discount for online management as an additional but does not state what it is it as it "varies by region"

What a kick in the teeth and an underhand trick as I was switched to this tarif only recently to prevent me leaving
    Awaiting a new sig

I have moved this morning for electric. Gas was only cheaper with npower and they are even worse for sculpting deals!

I have been told that disagreeing with the new charges is fine and they do charge the higher rate but give you the lower rate by way of a credit. So long as it works out the same, that's OK.

I have lost some EON discounts but £115 better off on electric under BG Click 6.

Bye Bye EON. Only been with them for 6 months. Looks like its EDF for electricity and Ebico for Gas. Npower is the cheapest duel fuel but I'm not going anywhere near them looking at some of the feedback on here...
  • EON have removed price lists from their website because they felt consumers found them confusing! Thus there is no easy way to find out what they charge for their different tariffs

I am on Eon energy saver online 8 and received my letter a few days ago too. I have been trying to compare British Gas Click Energy 6 but my Eon discount is 10% (although reduced from 14%) and British Gas only seem to give a max discount of £15 if you go duel fuel with them.

Last year, my calculations were roughly:
    Electricity: 2899
    Gas: 1903
Annual Bill: July 07 - July 08 = £892.4 (duel fuel) --> now will be about £1000 with price rise

British gas may be slightly cheaper, energyhelpline forecast ~£50 saving. But if you take into account the discount, Eon would probably save £100 with my price rise so am I right in thinking Eon is actually still cheaper overall because of the discount?

Also is there not a limit to the amount of times you switch? Otherwise surely everyone would just switch back and forth every few weeks to get the £30 cashback??

I'm in the same dilemma as to whether to switch to from EON to BG click 6. BG does seem to work out about £50 cheaper for me. They are much cheaper for electricity but can be slightly more expensive for gas depending on usage. Given thats its the winter months and I'll be using lots of gas this complicates matters, but I still think BG would be slightly cheaper in my case. Also you can postpone EONs price rise if you tell them you're switching and get £35 of Amazon vouchers by using the SimplySwitch link on this site.

I don't think there is any limit to switching. To get some of the cashback offers you have to stay with them for a couple of months. If they didn't keep changing tariffs we wouldn't have to keep switching.

Decisons, decisions, I can't even make my mind up what to have for tea....
