EON Energy Saver 8 - my prices have gone up
I note on my account this deal has now got the high unit price they use on all their other plans. As expected that deal lasted five minutes. I check online pretty regularly and the change is relatively recent.
So, bill due on November 22nd to bag the quarter discounts and thinking of then moving.
What is the best comparison site you all use?
I have looked at Simply switch and they show BG Click 6 as the closest but costing £90 more. That switch site still has our old saver 8 unit prices though. I suppose by the timeI come to change the new prices will have followed through to the comparison sites.

I am on Energy saver 8, where on the site do I see how much the unit rates are?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0

I clicked on 'My account' and then on the red button called 'Switch Now' - that then gives you the plan details you are on and below all the others E-ON offers.
I checked to make sure it still said Energy Saver 8, which it does. The rates are high now, just like all the others.
I guess they have 65 days or whatever to write to us and tell us.0 -
Thanks Kez, for some reason it says I am unable to switch on-line
From the Uswitch site, I think I'm now on Gas: 4.570 & 2.913 (2680 p/a)
Elec: 19.84 & 10.95 (900 p/a)
These are before discounts and are a slightly higher than the ES 8 figures used on my last bill.
Hmmmm, think I'll have a mosey round the other suppliers.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Logged into my parents' account. Higher prices as you say. Their last bill was about two weeks ago and used the lower rates.0

My electric starts at just over 25p for the higher tier before discounts now! May be the area we live in?0 -
My last bill was 22/8 and we changed to ES8 a few days after so I haven't had an ES8 bill yet. That will be 22/11 but I am all ready to move as clearly this was an exercise to look good on the comparison sites and they need kicking into touch over it. I'm only a little person but I can change and it's the only power I have.
I have a lovely credit as well which will be nice to get my hands on0 -

I'm in Lancashire.
Think I may be contacting e-on to clarify my prices as they aren't showing on-line....although I'm sure I could see them there before.
My electric usage is fairly steady....but my gas is rocketing at the moment. :eek:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

Hmmm, nice trick they pulled there.
Offer a new low price tarrif to entice you to switch away from saver 5, unfortunately the new tarrif has a lower discount, but the prices are better. Wait a couple of months to sucker plenty of people in, finally wack the prices up, job done.
You've got to hand it to them, worked very well. It looked far too good to be true at the time, glad I stayed with saver 5.

It didn't work well. I got much cheaper fuel for two months with a slightly lower discount. Now I shall move. I've been with EON for years and am a good payer. Their loss, not mine.
I suspect these increases they have imposed are only what you have been charged for the last few months (because all but ES8 seemed to be on the high rates). We have saved on those and can now move. Based on these common EON rates, BG Click 6 online management duel fuel is looking like £110 a year better for me. Based on ES8 original tariffs I was 140 a year better off on ES8 than my previous EON ES deal, so worth a two month move.
I'll be off to BG soon and bag a £35 Amazon voucher via a switch site. That'll help with some 2009 birthday presents.0
