EON Energy Saver 8 - my prices have gone up

The prices went up on the 1st and letters are going out this week to all affected customers.0

Thank you.
Await the mass exodus!0 -
Don't forget to get the old rates if you switch, people! It can make a real difference in these high-usage months!Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Oh yes, we refuse the new rates in writing within 10 days (copy to customer focus) and put a switch in place within x days (that's no problem I know who I am switching to). Ensure we get old rates until the swtich goes through (but we may have to fight to get the old rates shown on the bills - hence reason for writing to customer focus)
Out of interest, how do we get our large credit back? Does that go straight into bank account once the final bill is rendered?0 -
Eon have been really crafty - bordering on underhand. Not only have we now got the huge increases, my discount has also reduced from 19% down to 13.4%. Plus the 'apparent' lower rate appearing on the comparison sites must have lured customers from other providers. They must also be kicking themselves faced with an immediate hike after switching. I wish now I'd never switched from v5. At least I would still have my 19% discount!0

I'm better off with BG than I would have been on V5 with discounts. They shouldn't act like this but I knew they would. I changed knowing I could get much lower rates for at least a couple of months (plus the change time if I refuse the changes in time). Sign of the society we seem to live in and OFGEM moan about rates done purely to lure people but never do anything obvious to stop it. Only way for companies to learn is to walk and I will. I'm a good customer and always in credit. Their loss.0

I agree 100% with this post! Forget OFGEM doing ANYTHING about this sort of thing, the ONLY way to stick it to these rip-off merchants is to play them at their own game and get as much wonga out of them as is legally possible. I know there are some on here spouting about the 65 day rule being in the customer's interests but, seriously, ouside of this forum, approx what %tage of the population at large will know about the fact that you can object to the increase, switch and pay at the old rates? 0.0005%?? This REALLY needs putting 'out there' so more people are genned up and can therefore fight back.Call me Carmine....

They need to declare it on X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing - that will hit most of the population on one night!0

You'll never get a bill that shows the old rates it's physically impossible to produce.
As long as you don't cancel the Direct Debit with your bank then your credit will be refunded straight to your bank account.0 -
But if I refuse to accept the new rates they cannot charge me the higher ones , by law (so long as I switch in the given time). So they have to make some adjustment to make sure I pay old, low rates. How is that exercise done?0
