Still not smoking.
DS has been sick as a dog so I'll have to take tomorrow off work. Not great when you've just started a new job but can't be helped.
Spent a grand total of 65p today on bread. Found myself comparing price of that loaf with what I usually buy and the price difference was 70p!! I have a very mathematical mind and found myself working out how much that would save me over a week, a month a year! Hope I'm not the only one with constantly running sums in my head!
Really wanted a fag after dinner (leftover potato pie....much nicer second day) but jumped up and did the washing up instead.
Now have to find a way to get DS upstairs. He is crashed out on the sofa having fallen asleep at 6.30pm. Bless. Hopefully tomorrow I will get some time to ring virgin media re internet costs.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -
DS much better.
Two results today. First £100 recieved from A&L for swapping current account.....paid straight away to Halifax OD. Rang virgin media re internet/phone. Have reduced bill by £9 a month. So broadband, landline and basic telly for £20 a month. Not bad!LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -

Well i fell off the non smoking wagon. I've smoked since I was 11! scary really. I won't give up giving up though.
The initial excitement of getting sorted is beginning to wane, and trying to keep on the straight and narrow. I went for dinner with a mate today and told her about my debt. She was amazed. She herself is on Income support but has no debt. Makes me realise how much money I've wasted.
This is beginning to sound a bit maudlin! I find coming on here really helps to realise that I'm not alone and actually in a far better situation than many. I'm hoping to get a tax rebate in my next mini paycheck so fingers crossed!LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -
Have spent last 10 minutes signing myself up for internet banking on all my accounts. Love It. I think I have a new hobby!LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0

Thats great ...... it really keeps you in control of your money
....
Sorry to hear that you fell off the " non smoking wagon " .... To be honest if i was you i would leave this one for a little while and then try again......I'm in no way trying to encourage you to carry on smoking permanently but i think you are trying to do alot at the moment, what with conquering your debts, working and looking after your son ....
Or perhaps you could try cutting down each day .... i don't know how many you normally smoke , but make yourself a rule that you can only have a ciggy every 2 hours / 3 hours or whatever .... That may make it a little easier ....
take care ...

Thanks Bet! I think you are right. I will give up one day, I know I will.
At the moment i am getting a thrill from; Being at work and knowing the only thing using electricity at home is the fridge/freezer! Adding some water to my Flash kitchen claner to save me buying any new this week. Being given a flyer for £4 off tescos.
Ah simple pleasures hey.
Was turned down for a 6.5 lifetime Balance transfer card and was a bit disillusioned but today I had some CC cheques from Halifax offering 6.8 for lifetime balance transfer so all looking peachy. I haven't got a huge limit with them but I reckon I will be able to 'clear' the OD (19.9%)LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -

Have you tried " stardrops " cleaner ?? ...... I've not yet tried it but keep reading threads where everybody raves about it ..... Apparently you can use it to get stains out of clothes as well as general household cleaning ..... Meant to be very good and reasonably priced ....
