  • Had a right old day of it today. Had a family funeral which was 100 miles away, got lost, arrived late and used 2/3 of a tank of petrol in the process. Which brings me to my next point! Last night i went shopping for snacks (Aldi) and drinks for the journey for myself and DS. Thought I was being very DFW like knowing I usually just stop at a garage. Anyway, forgot the snacks, got lost etc etc. All down to p*** poor organisation really.

Memo to self. Get yourself blooming organised woman.

New job starts tomorrow so early night.

  • Hi guys!

First day was very good. It is at the same place I've been working part time so not as daunting as being totally the 'new girl' Just had our own cheap low key fireworks night (read pack of sparklers!) and looking forward to the school display on Friday. Look back to last year when I had all the neighbours round for hot dogs and bought a couple of boxes of fireworks. Can I count that as a saving????? lol

Bought reduced halloween cakes for DS pack lunch 25p a packet. Bought two packets just shows what a con it all is really! Oh and a bag of curly kale for the rabbit, reduced to 10p. Loving my bargains!

Took lunch to work so saved my usual £2/3 trip to the shop. Rang tax credits and told them all my new details, they are a law onto themselves so who knows if it will go up or down I'm sure they just flip a coin!

Paid for this weeks after school club! Moving on swiftly.........................
Rang Virgin. I had a 0% deal and committed the cardinal sin of spending on it.
So I'll have to sort that out. I'm going to look at life time balance transfers I think. Barclaycard is the same. I have a 4.9% lifetime balance then the AA took out there fee from the card. That membership must be around £200 by now.
Put the hoover over, done the washing, now superwoman is having a nice cup of tea!

  • More bargains today! Loving the reduced bits in the supermarket and cant wait to see what I have actually spent on food by the end of the month thanks to my spending diary.

The spending diary is making extremly scary reading when it comes to smoking. So....deep breath.....

I'm Giving up smoking on Saturday.

i think I had better get myself over to the giving up thread. I've tried before and have a good supply of patches in the cupboard. If I can manage it it will save me SO much cash as I think £120 a month was under as an estimate.

I know my total debt will go up before the 'big' payday end of December but I'm trying to limit the damage as much as I can. Christmas and car insurance might have to go on a card though.

I'm not letting this put me off. My mindset is different. Took lunch to work again today and carrying just cash is making such a difference.

Getting really impatient to get all my up to date statements in. But none arrived today......maybe tomorrow.

    Feeling positive.

  • well done, payback.

your statements? are you doing internet banking? much more immediate.
  • I opened a new Alliance and leicester account which I have internet banking for. I love it.Can you get online access to your credit card accounts? I'll sort out getting barclays and halifax current accounts sorted for online banking.

Just been on the snowballer thingy. GRIM GRIM GRIM

To be debt free by 40 I'll have to have £520 per month to service debts. Holy Poo!

I will have to consolidate I think. My credit rating is good so I should be able to get some better deals. Whats also worrying me is that now i have opened new accounts others only have tiny amounts trickling in ....say £200 a month each. My review date for HALIFAX is Jan 09. Will they reduce it or worsr cancel it. This full time working lark means daytime calls are hard. Another list needed me thinks.
