That recipe does seem to have an awful lot of liquid (over 2 litres) compared to the other ingredients. I haven't made it but if I was I think I would use much less water.
longtermlurker, it might be worth simmering your sauce for a while which would reduce the quantity but make it slightly thicker and concentrate the flavours.

well I made it last night and let it simmer for about an hour it tastes divine but too watery so we used cornflour to thicken it and works a treat hubby is sweet chilli sauce expert and he loves it.next time will try less water we made 3 huge jars for around 2.00 where as we normally pay that for 1 bottle.Weight loss challenge 66lb to go /59lb's lost
