Sold another book at the weekend - first for several weeks so I'm pleased, only a thick novel but had it on for 75p and it sold dispite there being 1p ones on there in the same condition
not complaining though, have made £1 after posting and was a freebie from my parents so I'm pleased, lets hope it's the start of a good week sales wise
. Perhaps it's because a couple of hours earlier I moved all my 'stock' from a pile into a box and so I had to search through the box to find the book I'd sold

Well I'm in shock.
Put a book on Amazon today that I received as a swap. You know what its like when you get a book and its not what you thought it was. Anyway, there wern't any on Amazon but there was a buyer waiting and they reccomended £30. Put it on for £28 thinking I can always keep lowering it. It has sold! Can't really believe it. Hope this sets the pace for the rest of the week.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -

Congrats smartcat:D Bitter sweet though, don't you wonder now whether you might have got more? Had exactly the same buyer waiting situation last week with a swapsie and put it on for £25 and it sold within 3 hours!!!!
I find Amazon's guideprices very bizarre. I prefer to check on https://www.bookfinder.com to see what others are going for elsewhere. With my one last week £25 looked reasonable even taking bookfinder into account, but can't help wondering what the buyer might have had as their upper limit0 -

errrmmm they arent amazon's guide prices, the amounts you see are the average amount the buyers are prepared to pay.
So, if there are two buyers waiting for a copy and one has offered £ 20 and the other £ 40 the price you see is £ 30 but you could sell your copy for
£ 40.
Consequently, if a seller offers their copy for anything less than the maximum price offered by the potential buyer then the sale goes through automatically and the buyer has actually lost money because they could have charged the full amount.0 -

Sorry Becky, no books on that!
No sales or swaps here for a few days now, hope things pick up again soon. All I had when I got home from work was a pile of emails from Amazon telling me loads of books had come to the end of their 60 day listing, so off to put them all back on in a mo.
I wanted to swap for that How To Pay Off Your Mortgage book but got turned down!0 -

So why do you sometimes get a guideprice come up for an item where there are already tons for sale used? I've seen it where it tells you that the Amazon guideprice is shown as say £8 for example but when you click on the marketplace items there are tons listed for a penny. Seen this sort of situation a good few times.
By way of an example:-
Click on sell your stuff.
Now search on Some Other Rainbow - it comes up with a used price guideline of £6.29. Now click on the title and there are 215 used from 0.01p.
Also, are you saying that if there is a buyer waiting and their max price is above the price someone lists it for, the transaction goes through without them being consulted first??? I'd read on here that listing it inside the buyers max price results in an automated email being sent to them to tell them that the book is available at the required price.0
