Right Ive got it! Well that has nothing to do with buyer waiting prices.
It is a computer generated calculation based on Amazon's new price and it doesnt take in to account other sellers prices so really its a load of rubbish and amazon should abandon it!0 -

Sounds like you have the same lady I have - she pulled a right face today and I only had 14 parcels to send :rotfl:See the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -

Hello everyone, My first time on this thread which I'm pleased to have discovered. I sold a few of my own books on Amazon last year and have just listed a couple more today. Also today I bought a 2nd hand book for 25p because I thought it might be worth more and when I looked on Amazon, they don't have any of my edition. It doesn't have an isbn number or even a date although it's circa 1978. There are very similar editions for sale ranging from around 14.00 to 70.00. Amazon said they can't sell it if it's not on their list but I can put it in an auction. Has anyone done Amazon auction selling before or is there a thread on it anywhere? I haven't been able to find out the value of this book yet, not seen an edition online anywhere with the same publishers, (The Leisure Circle). Anyone got any ideas?“We all pay for life with death, so everything in between should be free.”0

If its Leisure Circle then its a book club edition which is why it doesnt have an ISBN. It should be the same book as published with an ISBN by the original publisher in the same year so you could list against that but make sure you make it clear in your listing that it is Leisure Circle and if it sells make sure you email the buyer before you dispatch to check they realise.
Book club editions are usually worth less that the original.0 -
How do you find out if a buyer is waiting for a book, is there a section you can go too.
Thanks0 -

IF YOU GOT BOOKS ON WEE YOU MUST HAVE ONE ON THIS SUBJECT
Becky - haven't got a book on it, sorry... if it's what I think it is, then I am using it at the moment (perhaps too much info??!!) - well, not right at this moment! Always thought it was an old wives' tale, but obviously not!! Have you googled it?!? Perhaps THAT's why those women on that Extraordinary B.....feeding programme a week or so ago, were still at it with 8 year old children!!
Good luck with mopping up the bathroom flood!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
Put 19 books up for sale today, need to make some money to buy university textbooks for when I start this year. Once the amazon fees are taken off I'll probably end up with about enough for one book - if they sell!0

Amazombie wrote:errrmmm they arent amazon's guide prices, the amounts you see are the average amount the buyers are prepared to pay.
So, if there are two buyers waiting for a copy and one has offered £ 20 and the other £ 40 the price you see is £ 30 but you could sell your copy for
£ 40.
Consequently, if a seller offers their copy for anything less than the maximum price offered by the potential buyer then the sale goes through automatically and the buyer has actually lost money because they could have charged the full amount.
One more question about this - I've only ever been in the situation of having one buyer waiting and on both occasions there was no guide price given by amazon. Do I take it this is because it needs at least 2 buyers waiting to be able to average it? And just so I can totally get my head round it, do you mean 'the seller has actually lost money' in the final paragraph?
Becky - I'm even more impressed as to how you get to fit it all in if you're delivering bubs as well!!0 -
Sorry I lied Amazombie, one more question that was asked before ages ago - first thread I think, but nobody was sure. When you have buyer waiting and you list your book but the one buyer waiting thing doesn't disappear - does that mean your price is too high?
If so, could you go in say stupidly high and keep lowering the price and afterwards check to see when the buyer waiting note disappears - thereby catching them at their highest offer?
Am I making sense? It's late!0
