  • Commiserations Larmy, chalk it up to experience. I'd get them to send it back though if it were me.

I've had a bittersweet evening, as DH rolled in totally hammered after I'd been expecting him home for Christmas early - the last I heard he was leaving work at half past three!!!! We had "words" and he stropped off to bed early. A few minutes later "brrrrrring" went the email and I'd only blimmin well sold a deleted title I'd bought online for £12 for a whopping £50!!!!!!!

Hurrah!!!!! Feeling a bit more chirpy now.

  • i don't think i'd list a book for less than 75p voodoozoe, and then only if it was 25 pages or less ;) seriously i took the cheap ones off. the 1p went to the charity shop. apart from 'those' best sellers :)

i'm not allowed out until xmas purplepatch. it might have something to do with the fact i got legless with workmates when i'd promised the wife i'd be home in time to get last minute shopping in. i fell asleep on a bench with the joint of lamb as a pillow :o

    ;)

fantastic book sale you had there though :)

i'm not sure if anyone's ever checked local books, as in where you live, but they always seem high priced. does anyone reckon they're sold to ppl out of the UK? i'm tempted to sell some, i did sell one not long ago locally, but i'm a bit wary of listing them other than in the UK.

i sold a video of my kids for £20 on amazon(got it for 50p at car boot).all my dreams & self help books havent sold at all(too many people reading amaon threads). But ebay was my favourite re books. I bought a book from ebay uk for £2 and sold it 2 weeks later for £75 !! on a worldwide ebay listing..well chuffed with that one. seller had listed it very poorly & i didnt even realise it was a first edition until i got it. Havent had many like that though.

  • I missed out on a SIGNED Terry Pratchett book to an old lady the other day...think she was a book dealer in disguise!!! She got it for £8!!!! :snow_laug

I know I've still got a lot to learn about deleted titles etc. but I am really enjoying doing it...totally gone off ebay since starting on Amazon...my next plan is to try and buy some box loads through the paper or go to the all weather car boot.

Hi all, thanks for your replies regarding smelly mouldy book which I know was as new! Well I refunded her money, and then wrote an email saying that I would like the book returned to inspect as it was very unlikely I would send out a book in such poor condition and could it have been damaged in transit.

I said that I would like to read the book myself and also I would refund her the postage and I would be looking out for the book after Christmas. I am going to keep emailing about the book if I don't get it back now. If it ever happens again, I will be more prepared and not so quick to think I am in the wrong - I just know that book was more perfect than many I have sent out!
