Mike pmsl, send em over ere i'm not proud................lol

Havent sold anything for a couple of days, but have used my time wisely listing my duff buys on swaps site, done quite well swapped 4 in about 36 hours and they are more profitable books,so we all win.

Also listed these on listbooks as well.

Havent had time to put them on Greenmetropolis as well yet.

Also upped the anti on my other listings buy talking them up a bit more,so will see if that helps shift any in the new year.

    :xmassign:

if i get a minute to spare i'll check out that swap it site - but its made me think of those books again :D

i might open an account in the wifes name and let ppl think she sells em ;)

well done jo-b and all those that are still selling. i've had a rest - thank you God ;)

larmy16? don't you know anyone online that you can text the isbn's to before you buy?
  • Larmy - they may be a bit duff now but in 6 months they may be better.

Jo-b - addictive really is the right word!

that's spooky - I bought a book yesterday evening as well - wouldn't it be a laugh if we were all buying each others books unknowingly - it was a tracy chevalier novel BTW.

i'm not sure about buying each others books apprentice tycoon, but i bet after xmas we might all be selling the same ones with all the sales that's on at the moment ;)

Oh dear - today is getting worse! I just had an email from a buyer saying a book I sold them stunk of mould, it was really damp and was stinking their room out!!! It is really wierd as the book was in lovely condition and I never smelt a thing!!!! And I usually smell things very keenly (if that makes sense). Perhaps I should have let them return the book but I said to just throw it away and I would refund them. I am wondering if they just did it to get a refund and keep the book!

Just went in and refunded but it has really upset me :( - I know I should not take things so to heart, but are you able to reply if someone leaves you really horrible feedback? I have had absolutely no complaints so far even on older tatty books I have described and sold no problems.

it's difficult to argue about that one ain't it? it's difficult to argue about any book i suppose but was it expensive?

and keep your chin up. no point getting upset. :)

i think i'd want the book back larmy, but then you'd be even more out of pocket. but me being me, i'd still want the book back ;)

are you going to rate them as a buyer? i'm not sure if that's a tongue in cheek question or not by the way - i still don't know who sees the buyers feedback

maybe that's why i like either acceptable, cause you can describe all its faults, or as new.

but don't let it get you down.
  • larmy, please don't let it bother you - you may be right that they were nitpicking in order to keep the book and get a refund.
You refunded without and delay so I can't see why you would get poor feedback, so fingers crossed on that one.

If he was right and it was a bit pongy console yourself with the fact that we all get it wrong sometimes and I could make your eyes pop out with the stupid things I've done with amazon and ebay - I won't list them all because it's far too embarassing :o:o:o but I'll give you just one - 2 teapots to post, one to a UK address one to and Australian address, you've guessed correctly - it cost me a small fortune to get them switched back over but I made the best of it with self deprication and profuse apologies and got good feedback from both parties. The Aussies thought that it was a great dinner party story
  • If the books seem duff don't be disheartened...put them on anyway because in a worldwide market it won't REALLY take too long for your book to move down the list. :snow_grin

I also believe its not worth listing the 1p books unless you are a pro seller...its easy to forget you are paying out the flat fee of 86p per book which they don't do so can afford to sell for 1p. I have taken all my penny books off and put them on GM for now until its worth me becomin a pro!!! :snow_laug

I also believe you should have asked for the book back, sometimes people seem to like to try it on and see what they can get away with...I sold a handbag on ebay and WEEKS went by without anything being said, then suddenly the girl emailed me with a story about getting the post office card to tell her to pick up the item from the depot because there was not enough postage on it. We had the COP and everything and the only possibility was the stamps had fallen off...she was bleating on about being a student with no money and not being able to get to the depot and having to pay the postage AGAIN when she had already paid it to me...anyway I emailed her very apologetic and asked for a copy of the post office note with the amounts to pay etc. so I could refund her...strangely enough I never heard another peep off her and EVEN got good feedback!!! I reckon she was just trying to see if she could do a sneaky one.
